About this video: In this video, we go over how to download and install Minecraft 1.17.1 allowing you to change your Minecraft version to any version that you want. Overall, Minecraft 1.17.1 is a pretty minor update. It just fixes some bugs that 1.17 had in it. However, these bug fixes will make Minecraft better and more stable. Thus, we recommend everyone play on Minecraft 1.17.1 as it will be an overall better experience. Let’s go ahead and just into how to install Minecraft 1.17.1!

Before you can actually get Minecraft 1.17.1, you need to make sure that the Minecraft Launcher is downloaded. If you don’t have the Minecraft Launcher, you can find the our complete guide to getting the Minecraft launcher linked in the description above. It will show you everything that you need to know about getting the Minecraft Launcher. This is the best way to make sure you stay on the latest version of Minecraft and keep Minecraft 1.17.1 updated.

After you have the Minecraft launcher, open it up. You will need to login to Minecraft and after that, you will see a green Play button in the bottom of the launcher. Next to this, click on the little arrow. This will open up all of the versions of Minecraft you have. Here, you will see latest release. Under it, if 1.17.1 is the most recent version, you will see ‘1.17.1’. If so, click on this and click play. Minecraft 1.17.1 will the open up.

However, if Minecraft 1.17.1 isn’t the most recent version, you will need to create an installation with Minecraft 1.17.1. To do this, click on ‘Installations’ at the top of the launcher. You will see a ‘New Installation’ button on this page. Click this button and name ‘Minecraft 1.17.1’. After you name it, click on the drop-down box next to version. Here, select ‘release 1.17.1’. Click ‘Save’, and you will have a new installation with 1.17.1. Click the green Play button next to this. Minecraft 1.17.1 will the open up.

You may have some issues with Minecraft 1.17.1 not opening. This is usually due to you having too much RAM dedicated to Minecraft.
