You cannot say the word "NIGHT" anymore in Minecraft. It's banned.

The word “Night” is profane. So are a few others.

  1. Really, as long as they're not dropping ethnic/racial/gender/sex/etc. slurs, it's pointless to worry about. No automated system can catch real bullying, and they're wasting time trying to please people who hate all fun they don't control. Same garbage happened in the '70s-'90s with the satanic panic nonsense against D&D and rock & metal music. Harmless fun takes time and money away from church, so it must therefore be evil, but meanwhile, true evils like clergy molesting children is covered up.

  2. Does microsoft realize that a large percentage of the player base are either A adults or B older kids who aren’t that innocent anymore, it should be a choice that the creator of the world gets to make when they create the world and throughout, there could be 3 options; no filter at all, minecraft’s default filter, and custom filter where you get to choose what words to filter

  3. Can you toggle this on and off? If not, that’s actually so stupid. Not everyone who plays Minecraft is 4 years old. And if you are playing online, servers probably already have a chat filter. If they don’t (like 2b2t) and you get offended then don’t look at chat or join. Plus we know that once we go online there will be some nasty language used. This feature feels like a slap in the face.

  4. Last week I was going to name my axe Nightmare, and it was so stupid, i just couldn't type Night, so I ctrl z ctrl v the full word and it worked, Microsoft really needs to change this, so other chat things and stuff, this isn't working, and never will

  6. "Night" isn't banned. The first three letters are. It's the same problem that Dark Souls character names have, that a game about knights has the word 'knight' censored because the programmers are too lazy to distinguish between a three letter sequence that is insulting on its own and words in which it is not obscene. I've also run into the same problem with my username on several games, because of the word 'savage' having a particular three letters in it.
