  1. form my understanding this is how potato cannon ammo works; things like carrots (and i believe beetroots) go farther and are more accurate due to being aerodynamically shaped, with golden carrots dealing more damage because gold is of course very heavy. most other veg is standard fare, but tomato plants sometimes produce rotten tomatoes, which add a poison effect, same goes for their tuberous cousin the poisonous potato. berries can be fired as well, with glow berries giving the glow effect to targets. melons and pumpkins deal considerable damage and place down as a block when hitting a surface, which can be good for platforming but also clutter up the battlefield. other foods that aren't fruit or veg can be fired as well, such as various deserts, and even blaze cakes! blaze cakes of course will set targets on fire, since they're essentially pie shells full of lava. there are other ammo types with various effects that i can't remember, and some items absolutely have differing rates of fire which i don't know off the top my head, these are just the most notable things. it's a surprisingly versatile bit of equipment!

  3. Just to let you know different veggies do different damage numbers. I believe baked potatoes give it flaming and golden carrots do absurd damage. But you can tell the damage numbers by mousing over the cannon. It will tell you the damage its going to do with the given ammo. Potatoes are roughly 7 and in my playthrough golden carrots were like 36dmg or something absurd like that
