Minecraft Viki (video wiki) β https://minecraft.viki.gg
Over the past few years, Minecraft and Mojang have fallen in the eyes of some in their community. Today, I want to talk about why this happened as well as how recent snapshots for 1.21 have begun to heal that broken community. It feels like minecraft is finally moving in the right direction and I couldnβt be happier for it.

If Mojang keeps making these Amazing updates, Then I think the only thing we need is………. Optimization…. Minecraft Java's optimization in my opinion is getting really bad… :/
We can hope!!π₯
No.

5:33 according to us law, if you choose to moderate your platform you take responsibility for it. Its either you don't moderate and ban thus take no responsibility, or you moderate and that means if you miss a racist comment that will be embraced by your company legally, you cannot have your cake and eat it too
The villager balance update is a good move in the right direction, but I donβt like how you always know the level of book you will receive. I still think there should be low odds (maybe 1 in 100) that the villager can still offer the highest enchant level for a book (bound by villager, so breaking and placing a lectern wonβt change their book level) that way if people want insanely good villagers they can still grind for it but in a more meaningful way than breaking and placing a lectern.
Also I donβt think Mending should be obtainable from any normal villager, regardless of biome variants. Wandering traders should occasionally sell it instead. That stops people having an OP source of mending books whenever they want, and actually give a good trade to the wandering trader.
tbh I was really hyped about 1.20, cause that was the first step and change in mind of Mojang regardless of contents of the update. the way how they announced new features, made me extremely excited to see more. if u look at it without any hatred or anger it's really how it feels.
Fireflies will not be added to the game because they are poisonous to frogs, also frog eats a cube of fire magma almost the same frog size..
5:30 Dude, what are you even talking about? I run a minecraft server and it costs for Mojang 0 cents, since I host it on my own hardware, and even software part is made by community and not Mojang (where is modding API, Mojang? We're waiting since 2012, where is it?).
Mojang (or should I say, Microsoft) doesn't put enough resources to correctly manage such vast multi-national and multy-cultural community, they shoud've add their reporting system on their Realms and that's it. My server used to have guest accounts to let people without the game try Minecraft on my server and decide if they want to buy it or not, but with that shitty system it's gone, since these accounts can be easily compromised on another server and be banned GLOBALLY. It's only one example of how their reporting system actually harming Minecraft community.
Mojang kept f-ing up long before 1.17, and reporting system was the last drop for me. Now our community plays less Minecraft and more other sandbox games, which devs actually listens to community and improving the game instead of ripping off 10 years old mods.
P.S.: Palworld is absolute gem for example, try it if you didn't yet.
In hindsight what on earth were they thinking doing caves and cliffs together there was no way they would ever have gotten it done without delays, especially when it was announced during peak Covid times. shouldβve been caves one year cliffs the next π
What I really want now after I saw someone suggest it is enhanced boss fights with Ominous effects. Imagine going to the end with Ominous V and fighting a supercharged dragon, or tackling a wither five times more powerful than usual. It would help add new menace to bosses without buffing their base forms too much or introducing entirely new ones
"finally getting better" THERE WAS NEVER ANYTHING WRONG.
Great video man
There's a difference between 1.18 and 19, everyone was fine with it (being the split update decision) and 1.19 (the wild update) was the biggest flaw. They didn't want to tell us anything on the cut features. They couldn't of told us sooner before the literal update. Trails and tales was a great update considering what was shown vs what we got. And this as of now unnamed update. It's nice
minecraft doesn't really need more updates that much after caves and cliffs so i'm fine with the updates slowing down. the worst that could happen is them changing direction and adding too much random content to the game, which is what i think the trial chambers is. it totally circumvents 50% of the game and gives a unique random af weapon. whenever i'm not no-lifing minecraft i don't get dissapointed with the content, it's only when i play 8h a day that i start getting tired of the game. what you see of the community is survivorship bias, 99.99% of players don't rant on reddit about the game and don't care about the updates
1.20 is also considered an objectively good update since a majority of features were unannounced, and the cherry blossom and archeology carried it.
When this update was still in early development, I was initially ready to be dissapointed about the fact that they probably wouldn't update combat mechanics in any way (which would've been a no brainer), but honestly, I think they've managed to still make a really solid update regardless of that.
Trial chambers are very fleshed out, and I'm glad they spent time focusing on making a fun (if a little niche) gameplay experience for players to enjoy (that'll almost certainly be explored more in the future). This is definitely a step up from 1.20
I still do hope in later updates that mojang feels more comfortable exploring more core aspects of the gameplay loop. They've definitely excelled with it in the past, and I think that's what players have been missing for a while.
Why canβt they give us some of the stuff from the April foolβs updates. Pickaxe blocks and placers are amazing for redstone. The Lashing Potato makes movement a lot more fun, and the floatato changes how you build
a private company has no legal right to regulate things that happen on servers owned by other people, regardless of the EULA
and you only say they should do it, because it doesnt affect you, and only right now, you agree that things might be racist
but
remove context, and add in being offended over absolutely everything, and you start losing the entire reason behind the definition behind "racism"
and far too much we are considering things that are completely factual, and not intended to be derogatory being claimed as "racist" on someone else's behalf
listen again
someone ELSE is getting mad that the "VICTIM" ISNT ANGRY ABOUT, and you get banned for it or its not even racist to begin with, and someone is trying to make it racist by lying and gaslighting everyone and create false premises that can be used with the extremely limited chat reporting system to false-ban people
and if i curse in my own world, where nobody sees it, why should i get censored
and you wonder why people seem to become more and more radical, when you keep pushing them further and further into a corner, and keep punching them in the face for things they arent even doing
whats worse, the people who ARE the problem? arent even getting punished, they already found a way around it.
Chat reporting dosn't make sense if you know eveyone on the surver is an adult.
To be truly honest, I don't like how the Mace is presented. I love the idea of the Mace being added to Minecraft, I just don't like how the Mace was added. It's treated like another Trident, as it lacks a material based tier system, like the Sword and the Axe. The same also applies to the Shield, having a tier system from Wood, to Diamond, to Netherite would be a unique touch. Another issue is how OP the Mace is, such as eliminating all fall damage, as well as one-shotting the mob on impact. It completely undermines the purpose of Feather Falling Enchants, Potions of Slow Falling, and even Totems of Undying. I don't think I'll see myself using the Mace anytime soon. I expected Maces to give more damage and negate some armor value, whether it varies on the Mace itself or the Armor it's used against.
Don't get me wrong, people are entitled to their own opinions. If you like how the Mace is presented, that's fine. I just don't like it.
your opinions aren't unpopular, there's just a lot of paid trolls and bots online
I'm in the more technical side of the community, think Xisuma but with more focus on mapmaking instead of redstone, and 1.20.5 did heal us. The changes to items and nbt crafting are revolutionary. Farming people also got a lot from this update, I didn't think farmable cobwebs were going to become a thing in the near future. Pretty sure sand and red sand are the last two major materials left that aren't easily renewable. I know this stuff is niche, but decided to add my 5 cents here.
Hey all! This video was a lot of fun to make! I did some neat edits and changed up my style a little. I took inspiration from some other YouTube channels (lol channels that don't even do Minecraft content) to try and expand my editing knowledge! I want to keep making video essays, but I also wanna make some more varied content! If you want to help make that happen, consider subscribing or becoming a member! It helps out a ton! Thanks for watching! π

Minecarts really need an update
Personally i'm never going to forgive mojang until they MAKE TORCH FLOWERS GIVE OFF LIGHT FOR GOD SAKE
Distant Horizon got me to fall in love with Minecraft, Mojang Updates are decent or bad but… whats really keeping me with Minecraft is the modding community. I will give Mojang props like the Nether Update & Caves & Cliffs even when they got separated I can still understand that bit.
But the constant canceling of features for lets be honest dumb reasons, with the Warden & Deep Dark being completely pointless to adventure cause the loot and fighting the warden is just not worth it. So I can careless about 1.21.0 and it's features when the modding community is just straight up carrying Java.
I feel like the Trial Chambers and everything that's related is leading up to something big (or at least should be). The update needs another aspect to it that isn't just a product of the Breeze or Trial Chambers, something like an End Update, or even if it is closely related to the new structure and mobs, a new set of blocks, biomes, mechanics, etc. Minecraft's updates should expand the game's potential for player creativity, not limit them to a far off structure where they can only find a handful of new mobs and items.
That being said I do think the Trial Chambers are really cool, and all the little fixes and extra things being implemented (like the villager stuff, ominous potions, etc) is pretty neat.
7:40 nope they changed it from 1 tick to 0 ticks, so itβs faster technically, but it wasnt liked because odd tick delay is really difficult to reach, and this does it in a single block.
I just want copper to not be useless and meant purely for decorative blocks. Give it more uses, incorporate it into redstone somehow since IRL copper is an excellent conductor. Idk, anything besides more decorative blocks that I'm not gonna use. There's no point in me mining it except to make a spyglass, duster, and lightning rod.
1.21 is going to bring a little bit of the community back, but if 1.22 is the end update, most people would likely come back
Left handed sword was trippy
– To be fair they can't just not delay Caves & Cliffs, we where in a full on pandemic.
– The Fireflies and birth Forests are concepts, they even have written on the footage "Things are subject to change."
– Chat is a requirement by Microsoft, it should have been in the game a long time ago and should be in every game.
– They can't announce to much or the community will complain over things that "are subject change"
– The Mob Vote is meant to be a vote for a reason, for example you can't just have a government election and get all the people in the election to be voted it.
– The Wild Update wasn't meant to be anything major, they stated it meant to be a smaller update as the developers where hard at work on the biggest update they've ever worked on (Caves & Cliffs).
This is the perfect update. So much parity.
No
That one time I looked for an ancient city really early on in 1.19β¦. and found it in August. Later finding a few much nearer to my home. I was not easy too the caves had it out for me π
I feel like it all sort of started with the wave of animations for the updates, they make the update seem so much better and fluid than how the experience actually is. I wish the animations were more simple with a more basic showcase of the update.
