  1. Etho the reason tier V enchantments are rare is due to the following calculation:
Each enchantment has the same chance of rolling, it then randomly selects the level for the enchantment.
This means that Efficiency I is just as rare as Efficiency V. However, enchantments that can't go above tier 1, like mending, become way more common.

  2. Hey Etho! I've been watching your old modded series with FTB and your own modpacks and was wondering if you would ever try Vault Hunters? I would love to see what play styles you would come up with and how you would approach that new form of Minecraft! I love your videos and I'm excited to catch up on some other series of yours!

  3. If Race for the Wool does have a resurgence (and man do I miss it so much), here's a wild idea. I think there could be a way to integrate a more PvP-driven aspect than PvE with Invasions, by using some kind of finding "Invasion Tokens" scattered around the map; having a mob kill point accumulation system; OR for a more strategic way of playing, grant an invasion point for each wool block you successfully secure, which can be saved or used at any time.

These can then allow the team to open a "teleporter" of some kind and enter the other team's map/lane for a set amount of time, or until they die. (Kinda like Destiny 2's Gambit mode)

With the use of command blocks nowadays, and even the flexibility of data packs… Maybe this might shake RftW up and bring in some new flavours to an already amazing game mode?

  4. Hey Etho! Would you consider making a Wilson 2.0? In your 550 world tour you mentioned that Wilson was you pushing the limits of the newly added red stone features. Red stone has since evolved pretty dramatically since then so it would be pretty cool to how you would iterate on Wilson 1.0

  5. Ergo, if you read any of this please head my words. The yogscast, In particular barry/harry, had a while team dedicated to developing a “race for the wool” style genre map.

I would die a happy man if there was a collaboration, please if you read this or anyone in the race for the wool community reads this. Reach out and make this happen please

  6. For Sandy City, maybe put rooftop gardens in there, that would probably fix the problem 🙂

Edit: also, I know it's not really your style, but you have the prestige and popularity to bring Race for the Wool back. Maybe not-so-secret streams or something to keep it alive? YouTube is separating live content from uploaded content now, so it shouldn't impact the reach of your videos I don't think, but again it's not your style. I'd look forward to it at the very least.
Great stuff as always, I'm surprised the Wither idea worked out so well!

  7. Shower was a really bad joke to make here, especially considering the villagers features and some of the ex-developers horrible beliefs (Notch). But i genuinely believe etho did not realize this or think of it this way, i think he is innocent but naiive. While i think its okay to be ignorant of such things, especially considering it is a fun game, i think it would be beneficial in ensuring everyone in the audience can have an enjoyable watch with no flashes of horror and darkness at an unintentional reference.

  10. I've found the quickest way to get villagers to go where I want is to force them to pathfind to a bed with a trapdoor walkway by leaving them without a bed. Though, that's mostly if I want to move a specific villager.

  11. Race for Wool, YES! To your question what happened to it: it still exists-ish, but in much smaller tiny discord circles. Loads of people (myself included) have made dozens of new maps, but the scene hasn't really been able to attract new players since those early days. It's amazing to hear your thoughts though, I think the sadness in having seen it wither away is shared between everyone who was ever part of that scene, it was a real lightning in the bottle moment. Thanks Etho for being a part of it!
