  1. LEVER ROTATION DOES NOTHING

Please watch the entire video before commenting: " just fix your stuff", "its not a big deal", "mojang knows better", or "this makes redstone more accessible" thank you 🙂

Also lever rotation does nothing btw

Also also, if you genuinely want QC gone you are the most unserious person ever

    ALSO LEVER ROTATION DOES NOTHING!!!

  2. The thing that brought me to Redstone (Barely, not really but I actually used it for something for once) was the Copper Bulb.
I used it in a simple puzzle in an Energy Shrine I was building. I can't really explain it in a comment that well, but each of 4 pressure plates activated two adjacent copper bulbs and all 4 needed to be off to unlock the entrance.

  3. I feel like the dust updates being outright broken is just a side effect of them trying to make a small fix that would've otherwise been good to have. Surely they'll revert the change :clueless:

  4. I haven't done redstone in a couple years, but this seems like a "logical" change more than a practical change. Someone at Mojang went "hey, this dust doesn't visually connect with the thing it's powering! That's not right, we gotta change that." They did this without considering the consequences of making a giant sweeping change that will affect a vast majority of creations that people have made over the years. It makes sense from a visual/logical perspective to someone who hasn't done redstone for an extended period of time, but to anyone who does this stuff day in and day out, this is a game killer. In no way should this change go forward, whether it "makes sense" or not. If they're gonna go this route, add proper wiring and rework the system as a whole. Or just don't make this change.

  5. I'm only a casual when it comes to redstone, and I already know that if this makes it out of the snapshot, I've got a headache coming my way to figure out how to fix some farms. I just don't want to fix stuff that previously worked.

If they REALLY want to make this, they could literally make copper wire and give it that feature. It would give that ore more use so it's not annoying to come across, and would be a rather cool step in evolution added to have more possibilities down the road. Tired of single use items, and copper wire irl is super useful.

But the minecart changes are 50/50. I like the bug fixes, the speed increase and the launching ability. They broke piston bolts, and cart stacking.

The redstone torch change looks a bit goofy, but that's subjective with my preference to programmer art. I'm a little excited that they are giving love to minecarts in some way. I hope they can improve upon this work. Talon had some really good points.

  6. Well it was locational already but I dont think the answer was random. Why not add new rule to define how it work.
They just made locational chaos to random chaos and the chaos is still there right?

  7. I really think it's dishonest to COMPLETELY dismiss the statement "just fix your stuff" because a lot of people saying that (particularly myself) are using it as a summary of a much more verbose statement on the state of redstone as it is.

The things being broken here are not crucial for the continued operation of redstone. The only things that are being broken are weird edge cases or behaviour that's riding the line on being an exploit. When you are actively exploiting buggy behaviour of an item in a game, you really have no claim to be upset when the game's developers work on removing that buggy behaviour, especially when they seem to be doing so for the sake of making things more consistent. It may not be perfect yet, but I've yet to see anyone provide me a single reason to disagree with these changes. It sounds a lot like people getting way too accustomed to their jank, and throwing a tantrum when it finally gets patched out of the game, something that probably should've happened 6+ years ago.

So, in short, just fix your stuff.

  8. Does anyone else remember when during the development of 1.5 (the Redstone update), Mojang intentionally took input from creators like Ethoslab to make sure that they didn't break people's contraptions? I hope Mojang chooses to repeat that course of action

  9. Randomness in time instead of space is good, easy way to use RNG intentionally in a build. And it's easy enough to avoid, especially if they sort out the little inconsistencies.

  10. Isn’t quasiconnectivity a bug? Like I get it’s really useful but if it’s not intended the game has all right to remove it. You can always play an old update if you can’t live without your bug.
