  1. I think the iron bars are there to incentivize players to roleplay literally trapping and imprisoning a Zombie Villager? I have no idea why else Iron Bars specifically, would help speed up the curing process instead of like, normal village blocks like Wooden Doors, Bookshelves, a Lecturn, etc.

  2. could be that in European folklore, fae and just magical beings in general are weak to iron, so exposing the zombie villager to iron the zombie is weakened, which makes the transformation faster. Mojang is a Swedish company, so it's feasible that folklore was the reasoning behind it 🤷‍♂️
