bro they could just add the mod but also add a switch to turn the purple effect on/off
just have it as a setting with a simple name like "immersive nether portal on/off"

The first portal is normal, then you should trade piglings for an unique thing, that could make a portal like that

I think you should be able to have both, but the immersive portal has netherrack corners or something
This is laggy, if you don’t have that good of a pc, it is very laggy
How about when you light the portal it will get purple in 3 second and ended up with the transparent.

What about… If the nether chunks around the portal aren't loaded, it could show the purple swirls, but after you load everything it could be immersive? or it could be togglable, like a gamerule or smthn
It should be in the game but just blurry and with the purple effect
They should add a setting where you can toggle it
Make it so that the first time you enter its purple but in the future it shows it
oh boy if only new player could make their first nether portal without googling
