  1. Wow. Ive only seen the fire in the laucher and thought that would be it as well but turns out they put more into that one snapshot then you get with some mods. Im gonna check out if you can disable voting cuz this has some great potential for pretty much everything.

  2. Regarding your comments on the cheese block from the live stream, while it has been implemented in the game as 255 different models, as there are 8 subparts which can either be there or not be there, that is likely just the simplest way to put it in quickly and it is not needed due to the symmetry options available.
A simple example of why is provided by normal blocks, e.g. stone.
You have a model for the block, a model for a lower slab, a model for top slab, a model for stairs, a model for inner stairs and a model for outer stairs.
This is a total of 6 models.
Yet when you consider the options it would cover a total of 27 out of the 255 required.
The block, slab and top slab cover 1 each for 3.
The stair variants each cover 8 for a total of 24, as there are 4 possible rotations around the y axis and it can be flipped.

However, if it is a normal block with all 6 faces the same, even that is already more than is needed for those models.
There is nothing stopping the single slab model being used for both the top slab and the bottom slab. This is shown with the stairs, where a single stair model can be used for both.

Additionally, there should be a similar ability to rotate the models around the z axis. I can do that with the textures, it just doesn't work with the collision model.
That would allow the single slab model to be used for any slab orientation, including the 2 horizontal slabs, and the 4 possible vertical slabs, for an extra 4 options.
It would also expand the options covered for the stairs for when 2 top blocks and 1 bottom block was taken (or vice versa), for an additional 8 options.
And for when the 2 blocks in a row are taken vertically, for an extra 4 options.

That alone would bring up the total to 43 options (if I counted correctly).

Similarly, additional models could then be used for lots more.
A single extra model with 2 corners removed on one face would give 6 more.
3 options similar to the stairs but inverted would give a lot more.

So while it would take more models, it wouldn't be 255 models.

  3. The transform potions should totally be in vanilla, and mobs would behave towards you the same way they would behave towards others of that mob. I don’t know why mojang is so hesitant to add these fun things to the game
