Much easier way: take the bread, craft it into wheat, and then craft the wheat into hay bales and build out of the hole and clutch onto the ground with the hay bale
before he said how to escape I copied the set up and tested if I could escape. I took the bed placed it on top of the wall. Then waited till night-time. When I slept I was out :/ Saw the vid and decided to try his method too. I kept trying but eventually after sleeping like 23 times I had 2 string. killed the cat, boom +2 string

sleep a lot till the cat gives you 4 string then you can make 1 wool and then build up from teh creafting table using the wool block
Keep sleeping until the cat gives you enough string to make a wool block
No no here's what I do I get three string kill the cat for string and escape because I'm a dog person like I seriously don't like cats

Easier way: make the breads in the crafting table to haybale then use that haybale to build up then get out
