  1. theory for spawn locations: the allays that spawn at villager outposts are allays that were recaptured, after they escaped. The reason why they cant phase through walls is because the evokers have use totems of undying to revive them, but to a level where they still have the ability to fly. The allays in the mansions could be from experiments of trying to create a bigger vex, like 10 or 4 allays combined to kill the player. I also think that some allays from the mansions were "failed experiments" as in they tried to merge them but their spiritual power was too much for the evokers, leaving the evokers to decide they would just make them rot to weaken them, but would in turn weaken the vex they would be merged into, which is why they need iron swords. But hey, its just a theory (like to make mat see)🤔🤔🤔🤔

  2. Zombies can also put on armour and equip swords when they pick them up which I think is a cool addition to the connection between endermen and allays, in which they can interact with the world

  3. Whilst in the Mansion, I had a theory that the Allays were players the Illagers captured and slowly tortured to death. That would explain why iron doors were used, and why the Allay knows how to collect items.

  4. MATPAT MATPAT MATPAT MATPAT I NEED YOUR ATTENTION BC I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING

In Cookie Run: Kingdom, Espresso Cookie is a coffee addict who barely even sleeps, BUT he mainly drinks espresso coffee and that got me thinking.
Since Espresso Cookie has espresso in his dough, is it possible that (realistically) he’s technically drinking his own blood?
Pls I need a theory about this

  5. something i'd like to add that wasn't mentioned in here is the fact that the sculk blocks, particularly sculk sensors, reuse some sound clips from vexes, further connecting them back to souls. also, a few of the sounds for walking on soul sand with the soul speed enchantment are literally slowed down versions of sound clips from vexes. AND, by extension, the sounds used for sculk shriekers are stretched out versions of those same audio clips. i think that alone goes to show that sound design really does play a HUGE part in the lore of the game.

  6. Couldn’t the allays just be allies of the ancient builders? They are just kind of like faeries that helped the ancient builders find building materials and in turn maybe the builders protected them. When the builders left for another realm to escape the Warden, the allays were left behind to wander without anyone to help and without anyone to protect them so they started getting captured and experimented on. OR…hear me out…maybe the allay aren’t actually being captured and experimented on, but instead are being imprisoned to stop them from merging together and forming Vex out of anger for being left behind. The “yearning” call that they do is maybe yearning for the ancient builders, as in they are still desperately searching for them. That could explain why they ignore the player upon being released, because they just want find their former masters. Until you show them an item and they get excited to be able to help someone again. They obviously have an affinity for searching for lost things, so why not an entire ancient race of builders? Also, the sound bite of the allay laugh doesn’t really sound as cutesy as they look. It’s kind of creepy or witchy… like a Poe laugh from the Legend of Zelda franchise.

Hey Mat, can I get a job as one of your theorist? 😅

  7. You really have no idea, players can make the world beautiful for these little allays again, I, on several occasions, have built, from scratch, in survival, functional npc villages with farms, naturally spawning iron golems and villagers that actually breed!

I single handedly constructed walls and defenses, towers and buildings to be used by my villagers… now if only I could arm them with bows and swords and armor… I would build settlements all across the world I inhabit, moving to a new location with every update.

  8. Honestly we need a show of these ancient builders and what they have been through like w the warden, wither, how they advanced, how they all died, and how are Steve and alex the only survivors. This would be a 10/10 show
