would be more realistic if calcite was in horizontal strips. This is how you actually find separate strips of stones in mountains. It's less blotchy mess, more "this kind of stone was created at this time thousands of years ago." Kind of like a timeline.

In all seriousness, way before 1.17 they could have just re-textured diorite and andesite to look like calcite and slate

11:18 That's a grove, not a snowy slopes. The change is only meant to happen to snowy slopes, lofty peaks, and snowcapped peaks. You expect the trees to grow on solid stone?

I love the new generation. Just looking at a river or lake than seeking a gigantic cave/spring is amazing.
(My computer broke and I'm on the Bedrock edition beta, so maybe it's just buggy terrain.)
