Have you considered turning the zombie dropper around so the spawner can be active from your kill spot?
My son suggests you drop the zombies on a moveable block with a hopper collection below to allow auto kill afk for rotten flesh, or xp manually.

dont forget to put the game mode on hard when u infect the villager to make zombie villager, on hard mode 100% chance of zombie villager, and in easy mode there is a 100% chance of villager to die instead of getting infected

Hey wattles: FAIR WARING FOR YOUR IRON FARM: got the same farm but the villagers summoned in a golem inside their holding cell, killing of the zombie, I replaced the 1 walkable block for glass to prevent this

Wattles, you should turn the top room of the clock tower into a phantom farm. It's a good spot for it.
