Why to 100,000 people still play this Minecraft version? I play a 12 year old version of minecraft that over 100,000 people have claimed to be the best minecraft version ever. Is this true?

This is not when a fortnite player plays minecraft, if minecraft was controlled by parents, if minecraft gave you life advice, best moments in minecraft history, I rebuilt every biome in hardcore minecraft, how we survived the end of the world or any video like that. This is why do 100,000 people still play this Minecraft version.

  5. oh no, that's one of the old test versions
    minecraft was free until 1.0 release
    and then it was 10$, only in 1.6 ish it became 20$ then 25$ at 1.9 when microsoft bought it
    now it's 30$

  16. I’m probably in the minority but I honestly think the games been the best it’s ever been. I started playing minecraft on the alpha versions and those old versions are charming but yeah I think it’s much better now.

  20. Personally I can't relate to people saying they prefer Minecraft being simple as possible. After a casual week of playing it… the older game was only really fun while playing with friends, and that part won't hold your interest long either if you mainly prefer single player games like me. Furthermore the folk saying the old version was great because you could use your imagination to have fun… Just what the hell? that's a nonsense line to say because you can still use your imagination the same way on the new versions, and arguably can do it better by having more tools for better self expression. Personally always got quickly bored of old Minecraft after playing it for few hours, and then I wouldn't it touch again it for months each time afterwards.

  31. a lot people consider beta 1.7.3 the best version, mainly because that's the first version a lot of og fans that are still around (myself included) played and this version of minecraft had some the best mods for minecraft, and where a lot of the classic mods peaked, sdk guns mod, the aether, the clay soldiers mod, The Legend of Notch, more creeps and weirdos, buildcraft ect. the list goes on

  32. Homeboy doesn't know about windows vista making me feel old here. The beta is just as beautiful as when I left, though I feel minecraft is much better today despite some broken aspects needing worked out.

  34. It's great because it challenges you in ways new Minecraft aids you in. Where you see challenge and struggle as not good, it's the grind that makes getting those things such a reward, it's the way you could envision builds so simply with a fairly easily knowable range of blocks. I do wish old minecraft had running and a few other things from new minecraft, but if that had happened, there's a lot of minor little things that make old minecraft in many ways better. I played since Alpha both singleplayer and multiplayer.
