  1. I honestly really enjoyed MC Earth much more than Pokemon Go. I actually stopped playing Go for Earth. That being said, pandemic stuff made it hard to justify walking around populated places playing the game and I couldn't exactly play it while walking the dogs I ended up adopting during said pandemic which is really the only reason why I go outside besides doing errands now. I feel guilty leaving my dogs inside when going out for walks, but I need both hands and my focus to ensure that they're safe and I'm safe. So I stopped playing AR games altogether.

MC Earth was an amazing experiment and it really sucked to see it disappear. It had a lot of potential. Even if they had left it in it's current state for a few years I could see it being more popular if they had done more marketing for it past the initial pre-launch push. It's crazy they put so much effort into that push considering the awful launch they had, it was a perfect time to promote the game once everyone actually had access to it. It's one of the many things that make me start to lose faith in Mojang. 🙁

  2. I just don't understand why is this game is even dependent on internet connection. Sure, seeing builds by other players would need it (if it were to ever be implemented) but just walking around, tapping things on a map, and placing blocks should run fine offline.

  3. i used to play mc earth for hours at a time. i remember just loading the game up at my house just filled the game screen with builds. it was so much fun. i was so sad when it shut down. i really wish they would try and relaunch it.

  4. Now that covid restrictions have ceased (which is one of the reasons minecraft Earth shut down) and the minecraft community is pretty quiet as of writing this (what with all the chat reporting and mild update drama just recently calming down), now would be the perfect time to relaunch minecraft earth. I'm so grateful that i managed to play this just before it shut down, and I was really sad that it got discontinued as many people agree that it was the better game when it was announced alongside dungeons…… #BringBackMinecraftEarth

  5. Hytale didn't came out yet, but it's kind of the same situation, as Simon said in a tweet, they never excepected for the trailer to get millions of views. That's also probably why it's post-poned so hard, so people forget, just for now.

  6. Yeah this was about right. A cool idea that didn’t do all its expectations, and had a boring grind, but was fun otherwise after a rocky start. I actually still have the app installed on the phone I’m using to type this on. It was a have I wish could’ve been ironed out with some patients.
