My hot take – I think this movie will be fun. It looks silly, and pretty absurd at certain points, but I think watching it will be a good time. My extra hot take is that the things people are laughing about (Jack Black being in just a sweater, the sheeps goofy face, the mobs having wild teeth) are actually all the things that make this fever dream hilarious.

I had to unlist this video due to a brief copyright dispute (the video got automatically claimed, I disputed, then my dispute got rejected), but it's all resolved now, and I've been told that it's been fixed across the board.
Now nobody can accuse of me being a paid shill. In fact, I briefly paid them 😅
Besides the fact that this should have been animated rather than live-action, and that they randomly cast an unfit actor as Steve, the CGI is also incredibly subpar. However, the most disappointing aspect for me is the direction of the story. Instead of embracing the limitless possibilities of Minecraft’s universe with its own unique adventure, they’ve opted for a generic 'people trapped in a video game' plot. This doesn’t feel like a true Minecraft movie—more like a poorly executed Jumanji knockoff.

I don't understand why people are whining about the trailer. It looks fine! It was never going to look like the games. They had to take artistic liberties with it to make it work when you have real life actors in the environment.
I mean, I guess you could have gone with an all animated movie and make it look JUST LIKE THE GAME. But then it would look cheap, because minecraft graphics look cheap. They work great in a game and they work great in fan made content. But they look awful for a big budget, hour and a half+ movie. You have to appeal to a wider audience, and most importantly you have to appeal to parents so they go with their kids to see it.
@6:40 I've always held that creepers should be more like bundles of vines, something vegetative, like they grew around a TNT block then picked up and started walking.
The v neck and turtal neck i think is a call back to when the community was devided in wich shirt the original steve was wearing. So i think they just used both to appeal to both sides lol
I have to say I love the teaser. It's perfect.
A normal mc movie would likely be bad & boring.
0:07 So, they bribed you. So you would give it positive feedback…
I guess the way to enjoy this film is to be a whimsical Brit.
No.
The animation of the movie is weird not minecrafty at ALL and the mobs is scary especially the sheeps .. im sad they didnt do the animation more cartoony .. like theu did in mary poppins waaaay back .. .. BUT i will give it a chance cause its still a movie about minecraft … and im a huge jack black fan and jason mamoa fan so yeah 😛
0:10 I would LOVE to hear about your trip to NZ and how you liked it! 😃

I always felt the creeper had a texture like a ghillie suit
What I'm hoping for from this movie is a completely unserious movie with good comedy. The kinda movie critics hate but are actually not bad. Similar in vibe to movies like Gulliver's travels, the tooth fairy, and aliens in the attic.
You just know there is gonna be someone that makes a texture pack with the film textures.
I can smell the copium in the comments lol
I love the look of Minecraft in this movie. I just feel It shouldn't of had real humans in it. The movie would seem a little more important without the CGI and human crossover.
Finally, FINALLY! Somebody saw the point of the sheep.
