See, the thing with mods, while they are cool and add to the game, they give op gear. At this point, keep the server running because ppl play it all of the time. maybe not everyone at the same time but ppl do play. Also start a vanilla + server that gives all of the fun of adventuring and fighting new bosses without all of the OP gear. Just the Vanilla gear that does not break the game.
It’s an infinite world, you can set beginners area etc
I think he needs to think about how to make the server livelier and addicting enough for people to play more. I mean yeah sure hjune and ryan have the best gears but everyone else seem doesnt really mind bcs they dont really battle each other. Also, majority of otv+f easily get burned out and i think they prefer competitive game more. Maybe add more events to the server, add some competitive aspects to the server (so limiting grinding/op gears will be relevant), add stories to the town, and idk perhaps they need internal survey in their friend group to get a lot of feedbacks
I'm ˢᵘᵇˢᶜʳᶦᵇᶦⁿᵍ ᵗᵒ ᵉᵛᵉʳʸᵒⁿᵉ ʷʰᵒ ˢᵘᵇˢᶜʳᶦᵇᵉ ᵃⁿᵈ ˡᶦᵏᵉˢ ᵗʰᶦˢ ᶜᵒᵐᵐᵉⁿᵗ;
Personally I would like to see RP and cool builds instead of grinds for the best gear. I really like RTGame's minecraft build streams where they would simply have a session where people came on, got a plot of land, and just started building from maybe limited resources and with a specific theme. I don't think this exactly is very feasible, since it's more like a whole community event, but something along those lines would be cool.
I really wouldn't want someone to ambush someone's stuff man I think I would even cry if that happens it's so frustrating rather than stealing people can go grind and mine as those rich people do. So wave addition would be a good solution pls don't change the rules or smth
Toast is scheming up new ways to extend the life of the smp
tax a chest of diamonds
some kind of conflict is needed to keep attention
dream smp lasted long because of the conflict
the hermitcraft has less conflict and more communal events
toast needs to set up something to keep it engaging
no one wants to play a game that is flawed and stopped development
a suggestion would be an arena, full diamond duels, allow bets, land can also be used as a betting chip, expand land every 1 1/2 weeks spawn is always in the middle with waystone
nerfing the ppl actually playing the game? thats a terrible decision
Why does he always have brodins twitter open lmao
I think adding more people to the server will help! And taking away banned things from people who have them is fair for sure
Why don't they try a UHC style tournament for the otv and friends this might make a more competitive side sincevmost people in the group enjoy competition
the interaction with daph was hilarious. such a comedic duo
Am i the only one that really isn't into minecraft, it's just so boring. I really tried getting into it cause my friends played it so much, 2 hours later i was over it bored out of my mind.
This might be very difficult to implement but traditionally the way you get rich people to give up their wealth is to sell them stakes in the town. For example, ask them to give up say, 65% of their diamonds to move it into a public trust. They can be board members of the trust with twice the voting power compared to other board members and the trust decides who can withdraw the diamonds and what the diamonds can be used for. Maybe Daphne and June can make that decision in the Trust charter to move the game play toward a certain direction. If they push gameplay toward something unfun you can pack more board members to dilute their vote. Good luck!
why not take a lesson from hermitcraft…. make a center island where everyone can build their shop and make it a center point of interaction. having safe zone is really bad because it discourages players to play it because of grinders… shops not only will make people cope up with the current meta by selling stuff and would make players life lil bit easier.
Yes
I understand why Dream stopped people from making auto farms and going to the end, now.
Adding factions may help and finding people that play Minecraft for different reasons than just getting the best gear. Having finite mats would help economic circulation so if people that build or craft would need to pay for them via trading or odd jobs. Limiting resources (with server refills every now and then) and having a variety of Minecraft streamers that aren't limited to just OTV + Friends and more of a vetted system to join sort of like how NoPixel runs would help keep it populated with active players and then bigger streamers that play more passively would come back for events.
Great video.
Been absolutely loving the content from the MC server but I think for content creators, the modpack chosen is kind of dry.
Most casual players are discouraged to play by the grind for netherite and since that's all that's available, Im sure they feel like they have nothing else to do.
A modpack such as Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons with fleshed out dimensions and cool adventures would be way more fun to explore, though I'm sure you could remove the tech mods
In my opinion a WHOLE SERVER RESET is probably what's best, close the server for a week, then re-open it, this time with NO PLOTS OF LAND, NO MAYOR! Just basic Minecraft (with some cool mods of course), that opens you up for some RP based content of Mayoral Elections etc. You could have multiple towns connected by a road, with 2 different mayors! Over time they could go to war, people could move from one town to another etc. Maybe even ban the use of the Nether for a couple of weeks, add new people daily/ weekly (And if you go weekly make sure it's a group of like 5), plus just let people BUILD overall, the banning on size/land purchasing really screwed the server imo 'cause it caused people to grind for diamonds instead of starting by building their house, business etc. And by limiting how much of this you can do people WILL LOSE INTEREST! Actually CREATE A MONEY SYSTEM using Gold, Iron, Diamond etc. And actually create weekly events like a Talent Show, Scavanger Hunt, Hide & Seek etc. These will keep people invested! Oh and finally START BY INVITING AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN!! Tbh this should be around 70-80 people, 'cause this will help the start of the server go smoothly with a huge group of people who could break off into factions or something!
Plus actually DO RP! It seems like barely anyone is having RP aspects in this game when there should be more!
daph <3
Can anyone give me free Minecraft Java Edition. I want to play Minecraft with Mods there. PLS ANYONE. 🙁
A new minecraft server was always doomed. People have already played the hell out of it. GTA RP is still fresh enough to be interesting. The majority of viewers don't really want to watch more minecraft.
To me it's just a shame that people like toast who had the potential to really get carried away with GTA RP, decided to drop it for Minecraft. Amon really had a potentially great story.
All the gta rpers that got invited have no incentive to switch to minecraft because the otv people already went back to gta.
I recommend trying to get OTV & Friends into a game called Eco since it is similar to Minecraft gameplay-wise.
It requires a significant group of people and a time sink, not to mention everyone has to work together in some way if they want to accomplish the objective.
i still wanted to see xqc in it
The thing with confiscating items is, particularly the ultimerite right I understand the Abyss stuff and iron golem armor that's just so incredibly easy to get and legit tankier than full ultimerite by just equipping the chestplate alone. Ultimerite however, requires 9 netherite ingots to make that's 4 scraps each ingot and 5 items to cover a full set + weapon you need 180 netherite scraps and it's not even immortal anymore now with the pig end opened. That's a lot of grinding you'll be confiscating from people that only play and love this game that much because of the grind for progress. If you think nerfing the time they can play is a bad idea you must know how bad of an idea it is to take away already played hours like that and not just a few either that's dozens of hours of just staring at your pickaxe click away red rocks :')
As for the drama, they attempted to start some at the talent show but a certain admin command deleted 3 days of planning and a week of storyline potential on that part :')
Hey, it's not your fault.
Minmaxing, while it can be good and feels good for the players that use it, is overall detrimental to the multiplayer experience. For Minecraft, RP is one of the better ways to deal with this. And by that I mean heavy RP with scheduled events, etc. that actually engross the people who play less. And you can use the fact some people spend all of their free time to have the best loot in Minecraft as a plot point.
The main problem with minmaxing in the OTV server specifically is that it's filled with mods, which makes it so that there is a higher bar to reach for players that play often. So the problem is bigger than might even be manageable. Its hard in a non-RP server to have a person just wanting to build a nice house in the flower forest interacting with a person that has been coding robots to begin the end of times.
ok when they come up with another game to play with each other they need to have a only a certain amount of time they are allowed to be on. so people dont get burnt out
I think they focused too much on nerfing stuff when in reality its the content that kept most of the players going. Other than the few who were grinding for improvement, everybody else were just on to play the game to make content with others. Like Sleepy whose stuff got nerfed or taken away so much, he kept playing because people were there to troll and then he stopped playing when people were no longer in the on. He didn't stop because he got nerfed so much, he stopped because there were no one was playing anymore. Like the talent show, a lot of people were there for the content and then they just left when the show was over. I think the admins were too focused on making everybody leveled when in reality what they should have focused on is giving everyone opportunity for content by opening up all the restricted parts sooner.
Thats what I initially thought about god items, probably better to really start from scratch. and add updates little by little, learning from mistakes is good.
