In my most recent world i did legitimately find a ruined portal with the exact number of obsidian i needed to fill it in one of the chests, and it spawned really close to a nether fortress.
Felt good to get that lucky for once. Shame I'm not a speed runner cause that would've been an amazing find.
I haven't looked for it yet, but im gonna laugh if the stronghold is under my house.
