  1. Btw there are also alternative Zoom mods the one I use ais called "WI Zoom" (Forge & Fabric), another would be "Zoomify" (Fabric). they are both zoom mods that even let you customize the Zoom!
Some more performance mods I would recommend would be, ModernFix(Fabric), FerriteCore (Fabric), and FerriteCore ((Neo)Forge).
And an Alternative to the Custom Entity Models would be: [EMF] Entity Model Features [Fabric & Forge], with [ETF Entity Texture Features – [Fabric & Forge].

  3. It's good to have some idea what is up with all that. I run on Fabric anyway for Replay Mod, so when updates for OptiFine slowed, I just switched to Lithium, Sodium, and a handful of others for things like zoom and dynamic lighting. I know a lot of people complain about how it takes so many of these smaller mods to add up to the things OptiFine can do, but I feel like that just highlights how big a project OptiFine is. It's understandable that when you're one dev trying to update something that does all the things these other mods do, it's going to tkae longer.

  4. I made a modpack for myself recently, optifine wouldn't work – so I switched to embeddium, with sodium and iris, so I could use my texturepack Excalibur AND the 200+ mods I wanted~

  5. optifine is a OG of the shader/optimization scene i still use it personally but i have tried the other ones out there. some are better than other in a lot of way too but i think it boils down to what the user wants to use and what works for them best.

  6. Another thing you can add with Iris and Sodium is Zoomify, which does exactly as it sounds and gives you a zoom function.
I downloaded it on Modrinth, I’m not sure if it’s available on curseforge.

  7. I've noticed that ever since 1.12.2, Optifine has been alot less- optimized? and I feel the same way with forge. I haven't been able to go back to forge since I went to Fabric, and discovering sodium, lithium, and all of the other addon mods, just allows me to play minecraft way better then what Optifine could give me, including the base Minecraft.
