The Allay
Known information:
Flying mob
It likes music.
The player gives it an item – any item, then it will seek similar items in the area and bring them back.
It keeps the item originally given by the player until the player takes it away.
The drop-off point for collected items may be the player or a noteblock.
There will be a way to assign a noteblock to an Allay.
The Allay does not break blocks, open containers, steal from other players, or generate items out of thin air. It only picks up items from the ground.
The general idea is that the Allay has two item slots, one for the “reference item” and one for picked up items.
The Allay will be able to pick up non-stackable items, therefore allowing new types of automated sorting systems for item types that cannot be properly sorted yet.
Unknown information:
Where to find it and whether it spawns naturally in some way or is summoned by the player. (If it wins, feel free to propose your ideas.)
How exactly it gets assigned a noteblock.
Whether it will be able to track moving noteblocks.
How quickly it moves and locates items to pick up.
How it decides when to drop off the items it gathered.
How it will handle additional item information such as names, enchantments, contents (e.g. the type of tropical fish in a bucket, or items in a shulker box), etc.
What range it might have.

Sorry the summoning idea is quite dumb
I think it'd be cool if the Allay could sing and it would scare mobs away
Alley is to vex as villager is to evoker meaning maybe they could spawn in villages.
You know stealth I agree with you on this I think we should be able to summon it and the reason I say this is yeah it's not a mob that you find just wandering around it's a spirit type mob like a ghost mob that can fly around and collect things on the ground and can help you sort stuff out like it's a very good mob to have around eventually that is. we should be able to summon it and no it needs to be a summon that EVERYONE in Minecraft can do too not just for the people that are for later on gamers like players just starting out in the world should be able to get these simple resources needed to summon the allay. and speaking of allay variants you know how you can dye sheep? we should be able to do that with the allow so grab all the summoning materials a b and c and then what ever dye color you want from a flower is the color of the allay! CUZ LIKE OMG imagine a pink allay that would be so cuuutteee! we don't have enough dyeable mobs in minecraft
Either we Summon with the Goat horn or another musical instrument that the Allay is lured to you on a particular Biome
Make new biome where that will spawn in that would be cool.

I believe it should spawn in the wild and be capturable then summoned/released by the player with some item (like a Pokémon). By capturing them like how you would capture a fish in a bucket you can take it wherever you want, making it so they are easily portable.
Maybe it can spawn occasionally in the dark oak forest. That biome has some fantasy and mysterious vibes and It will give that biome a unique exclusive mob and also for lore reasons. Perhaps they could spawn in groups of two or three and glow to make them easier to spot. When you kill a Evoker, they may drop an item that allows you to capture the allay. With the Evoker wielding this item, it will hint to some lore of them taking allays and somehow corrupting them into vexes, but in the player's hands, instead of evil vexes, you'll have helpful allays (they should scare vexes like how zombie pigmen scare piglins too). Also the jarred allay (just using a jar as a place holder for the item that you'll capture them with, but it would be nice if they were caught with that and maybe it can be use for fireflies as well) could be used to replace the bundle in some capacity since that isn't coming anymore.
They should be extremely efficient at gathering items by flying faster than the player can run, giving the impression that they're in a hurry to be helpful, and allowing them to pass through blocks like the vex. The distance they can travel should be 50 – 80 chunks.
When you interact with a note block, you will notice note particles with different colors depending on their pitch. What if you could assign an Allay to a specific note block by right-clicking on it, then right-clicking on the note block you want to assign it to, and the allay would change color to match the note? Perhaps you can change the color of the allay by changing the pitch of the block, so that you can tell which allay is assigned to which note block by its color.
And Finally, the Allay should sometimes drop its own music disc. It would make sense considering they like music and you just can't go wrong with new music disc, especially how they're now sounding after the nether update with pigstep and the upcoming otherside. #StealthArmy

Something new and interesting would be an enchanted book found in loot chest that can be put on a chicken egg. When that enchanted chicken egg is thrown the Alley is spawned.
I want to know is, will the Allay follow you like a dog/cat or will it wander aimlessly like the other mobs. I for one hope it follows you around. Imagine adventuring with your Allay buddy.

I think the Allay would be great for Birch Forest and Flower Forest. Or maybe we could summon them by using a new item called Vexing Chant ( Originally from Minecraft Dungeons, used to summon Guardian Vex ) which is dropped by Evokers or maybe from loot chests
Ehh I think it is more of a flying hopper rather than a fantasy mob.
What if there is at least a 30% chance of any deep dark city chest having an enchanted golden apple in it but with less than a 10% chance of any deep dark city chest having an iron apple in it?

What times will be dropped in your world except from if mojang make a it so that it gets the items randomly
if the allay is summoned then it gets rid of the early game aspect witch really files down its imprtance

if we get anything special about the allay i want it to be a mob that we can summon and it having multiple colors. but the summoning process should not be something that takes a lot of resources like the wither and if it wont be a mob we summon then the new birch forest we are supposedly getting would be the best place imo

I think allay should be summoned by throwing splash potion of Instant health II on vex after fighting the illager

Stealth i tried for ages to post on the feedback but my post was never excepted and has no bad content. Please listen to this idea. Which fits well with what you said about dimensions and the allay. Also allay needs multiple colors 🙂 .
Short as possible.
A dimension that is the the normal world but things placed there don't appear in the normal world. Paired with a way to make some that do appear but can't be broke in the normal world I have an entire in depth explanation I've tried submitting but to keep it short thats the main idea. Its not another dimension but another plane of the same world. Maybe with texture and biome swaps or anything as long as generation is mimicked and they include a way to interact between the 2 of them but keep whatever happens on the other plane safe from the normal world. Just think about the possibilities and complex builds.
Whatever they do they need to make sure we can have more than one or else it loses a lot of value
I would like it to be summoned , but also found in the flower forest , if you want one , you'll have to use a goat horn in the flower forest , which will summon one (or more with a VERY low chance) allay about 30 blocks away , and he'll come to you , since you summoned him , you will still be able to find them regularly in meadows and flower forests , and the goat horn only works in these two biomes

I would like for it to be summoned but it has to summoned by a certain tune played in the birch forest or flower forest. This would be a unique feature to the allay as we haven't seen anything like it before. I think another thing that would be cool is that when a vex is killed it becomes an allay and vice versa.
Maybe you can summon it by playing a note block in the flower forest or something for a certain duration of time.
I think we should be able to find it, but I also think we should be able to breed it with like a phantom membrane, I never find uses for phantom membranes but that will provide one
