  1. I think Mojang has made the classic mistake of not being up to date with the audiences wants. They've gotten so slow that it takes them a year just to add in a few block and mobs. And all the mod packs they sell are all crazy expensive. Now with Roblox, although the devs never directly update the game, they've created a community that keeps the game running itself. The Roblox content creators do the work of the devs and keep the game interesting while Minecraft largely lacks that community. Yes, there's mod makers but the Bedrock ones are mainly greedy thieves and the Java ones get barely any attention. Roblox keeps their content creator community thriving and their creations easy to access. In addition to this, Roblox makes it easy to play with friends and has the friend option that Minecraft lacks. Minecraft and Rolox thrive off their content creator communities, but Roblox does a better job at keeping that community thriving and easily accessible. And that is why Roblox is better than Minecraft.

  2. I feel like sometimes people are too overcritical. Sometimes, people will say that a game is awful and has no right to exist, but it's still a fun game. For example, pokemon s/v. It was very buggy, especially at launch, but I still had a ton of fun with it! I think the same applies here. Sometimes, people make a way bigger deal out of things than they need to. Sometimes they are big deals, but often times, people get really heated in the moment and don't think about it.

  3. This is an area where intent really matters, and, considering the lack of information one has to go on, one's individual assumption of those intentions will invariably be based on one's appraisal of the current state & direction of the company. Even as I, as a general rule, tend to give the benefit of the doubt… I have a bit of a hard time, and were it not that this honestly doesn't make sense as anything other than a concept image that got mistakenly uploaded, I'd have a hard time giving them the usual best-faith assumption.

Mojang has dabbled in censorship, which is an immediate red flag to me, but it would've been excusable if not fully reasonable had it been limited to official servers and/or on an opt-in basis by server owners. Unfortunately for them, their actions are global in scope and it's hard to believe that they won't continue to expand them, especially because, well, Microsoft. To put it bluntly, I've seen how Microsoft polices custom liveries in Forza (something that turned me against buying Horizon 5), and I have a hard time believing a similar level of sanitization won't come to Minecraft. One of the principle appeals to Minecraft is that it's an engine in which to play and express oneself through builds and skins, but self-expression is unpredictable and sometimes unpalatable to particular groups, meaning corporations see it as a liability more than a virtue. This is the direction I see Minecraft heading in, and while I hope I'm wrong, it's enough to sap my desire to play and participate in the game anymore.

Couple this with a pattern of updates that, let's be honest, tend to pale in comparison to a lot of mods on the market. Which in itself isn't a bad thing—mods have much lower standards of QA and, being elective, only have to consider how they will impact gameplay to players who would seek them out, unlike updates that have to work smoothly from the get-go and be palatable to everyone who plays the game. But, when updates are consistently underwhelming and when players can observe resources that could've been spent on making the game better instead used for sanitizing it… those two things are a very potent combination, particularly for players like myself.

  4. People keep screaming "Plagiarism!" But its so very obviously a mistake that stems from accidentally using an example mockup someone made instead of an actual screenshot from the game. I highly doubt that this was a genuine attempt to thieve someones content

  6. It's important to note that trends can happen for any reason. It's just as likely that the rise in Roblox relative to Minecraft is because the younger demographic that used to be obsessed with Minecraft grew up and moved away from it and now the "new" younger generation is captivated by something that seems more "modern".

Because even if the marketing is still focused on the same demographic people often trend towards the new and shiny thing regardless.

  7. I hate that the word "stakeholders" has infiltrated your vocabulary. Please understand that it's not a word created by well meaning individuals. It's a word created and propagated by literal communists.

  8. As a representative of the roblox community, it ain't looking too good right now
edit: Ok even if we do have a bigger player count for now the community and the moderation hasn't really uhmmm "matured". Roblox youtubers are getting caught doing disgusting stuff and what's more the MODERATION IS TERRIBLE

  9. honestly, I think roblox being more popular than minecraft is deserved. The new minecraft updates, while interesting at first, die out quickly. Roblox has a stream of new games. Although there are a lot of.. absolute crap games, there are masterpieces that are completely free to play. Some of these games could probably do well as their own game. As much as I love playing minecraft, I've personally gotten bored of it (unless in a multiplayer world with friends). Both minecraft and roblox are great games that deserve the popularity they get.

  10. it a not fair comparison tbh. u should start with 0 year for both XD. Although it kind of unfair in the video above ofc it will overtaken since roblox still "young". Minecraft has been a decade. A lot of player have an account. Since Roblox is free the demographic of people playing roblox especially child is frequent. Welp no doubt those guys will rise later as "OG Roblox" XDDDDDD. Same as Minecraft. They just need to maintain base player which is hard. Community in Minecraft is the reason why Minecraft is still exist
