I'm a bedrock player and I always knew there was a spectator mode since 1.19 update
Bedrock is seeming to get more Java features, spectator mode, java crouching in the new bedrock snapshot, and probably more! Java edition has some cool features and if Mojang combined the two versions it would be awesome for all the features, and better multiplayer all around.
