Minecraft Online’s notoriety for being the oldest Minecraft server is truly something special. But why is the server in such a bad state of disrepair in regards to player retention and server performance? Let’s find the truth.

  1. In the meantime, could the players optimize the builds by removing unnecessary item frames, placing furnaces above hoppers that don't need to pick up items, removing unnecessary mobs, etc? In your position, I'd want my money back.

  2. This was sad and stupid.
    SAD we all know why.
    But why STUPID u ask?
Well, here are some steps in upgrading the server and not losing 1500 $ like dust:
    1. Close the server
    2. Take the backup file and upgrade it to the newer version.
    3. Find the host (even tho I suggest just having your home server but however)
    4. Import that new backup onto the server, that now has really good specifications
    5. Delete that old laggy server, and just put the IP and everything onto the new one.
    6. Delete old plugins, and find the new adaptations for the new versions, and if u dont find them, then they are probably old and just forget them. I seen some of the useless plugins you use so yea.

Thats pretty much it now with all that done u have your server on the new host with plugins and with the same IP where players can join.
Server will operate much better with new specs and it's new version.

If the server still lags then take some plugins that are used against it.

If u could say more about the problem we all would be thankfull for that!
    Good luck!

+Sal thank u for making this video, and I think there will be a lot of people who would like to help.
This is the GEM of minecraft!

  3. As someone that works with servers for a living I can tell you that hardware is definitely not an issue unless it's physically damaged or in a very dirty never cleaned rack
Assuming it is even installed in a rack

Say for example it's laying on the floor all dusty and hell the lid is removed

    It would thermal throttle

But well maintained and secured in a rack and looked after dell machines from 20 years ago are still going on strong today from everywhere from data centres to ISP's

  4. Curious but why does migration to new hardware take a long time? Isn't it just copy-pasting the files and then running the server in the new machine? What exactly needs to be "fixed" for it to run in new hardware?

I'm not too tech-savvy so ELI5, please. Thank you 🙂
