When I started watching mcsr, people were losing their minds about sub 20s. Now I reckon we’re going to get sub 7s within the next couple years. If this man had better terrain in a few spots, this could have been 7:0x easily. Absolutely insane.
Doog went demon mode in this run. He didn’t even have a sub-5 blind beforehand and then just rips the juiced rates. He must’ve felt so motivated after that and just did every time-save possible from that point.
I’m not sure if other runners could even hit the zero like that given the pace and the pressure. If he keeps grinding, world record is definitely within his grasp.
I’m kinda new to mc speed running but why didn’t he put water in the end portal at the end to stop the enderman

also im pretty new to understanding minecraft speedrunning and had some random questions if anyone felt like answering!
1. so at the beginning of the speedrun, i dont understand how he knew there would be a buried treasure chest right at that location?
2. i see him switching the difficulty from hard to easy at some point and wondering what that does for him? do most speedrunners play on easy mode, are there different categories for hard mode? i saw someone who knows nothing about speedrunning once say "the world record is on easy mode which makes it way less impressive" which i thought was ridiculous obviously since the impressiveness has more to do with speed and calculated movement than anything else, but i still dont exactly know much about how speedrunners chose which difficulty, so i wanted to understand more about that.

I really enjoyed this run. Second sub 8 and zero cycles are finally being used it’s the future, next WR will definitely use zero cycle! And sub 5 return to overworld with eye measurement, insane
I wonder if crafting a wooden axe would provide enough time save to make it worthwhile

if i were blinding in that situation i would get an extra rod (there were 2 blazes remaining there) to not pick up the eye later and spare for eye breaks

It’s amazing to see how Minecraft speedrunning strats have improved over the years. I remember when the world record was over 15 minutes and runners were making nether portals in desert lava pools, and killing iron golems in a village. Good ol’ times

It is hilarious and yet somehow so fitting that people have taken Minecraft so far. Its a game designed for this. And Doogile is a person designed for this, apparently. I cant stress how cool it is too see this run, Zylenox's run and others being completed. Who would've ever thought that the Minecraft community would come so far? I mean, if you told Dream in 2020 that people would beat the game in half the time he did, I don't think he would've believed you but here we are… Sometimes just stepping back and looking at the whole picture is quite beautiful.

My mans spent almost a whole minute crawl-mining through netherack to get to his 2nd portal co-ords. With good terrain this could have smashed Zylenox's WR. Just goes to show how much potential there is left in this WR. GG Doog.
