Like the Create mod for Minecraft is amazing, but C++ is… strange, and I'm unsure we'll ever see anything like Create in Hytale, unless modding to this extent genuinely becomes their priority.

Let's be honest here. Even if Hytale is arguably better than Minecraft, it'll never beat Minecraft. Minecraft is just too big to be defeated now.

I dunno, I mean like I understand that like minecraft has been around forever and players are divided but instead of scrapping Java entirely, bring the 2 versions together into a sort of hybrid of the best features between the 2

I don't think MC will ever die fully, unless Microsoft somehow finds a way to blow up the entire thing way worse than chat reporting controversy or account migration. But I do think it's relevance is going away, likely not coming back to the top. The care of the game is decreasing. The community is tired of not being heard. Issues that have lasted for years are still being ignored. Apathy is growing in these circumstances. And if Hytale is a success, it will eat MC's money, and even if it isn't a success, the focus and passion on the sandbox today is exponential compared to 10 years ago. There will be new successes. This is especially true when you realize that a big part of this sandbox genre is a big part of the development of the metaverse that the tech companies are betting on. The competition isn't going to go away.

It's important to point out that mods like sodium fix most performance issues on java, so question is why doesn't mojang do it? Also modders who arent paid and work in small teams do huge mods much faster than mojang, it seems mojang never really commited to minecraft.

For me it’s the nostalgia, but I don’t get why it takes them a YEAR for a single update that could take the mod community a month to make. It really does need something new like a Minecraft 2 but when you think about it there’s not really much they can do to make a sequel :/. It’s gonna die soon.

1.20 was a pretty bad update with no new functionality except for archeology and the Cam- Came- Came- Camel (Sorry I couldn’t remember what it was called again.) And really dumb parity choices like Horses not being able to go in boats on Bedrock any more as well as changing the Shattered Savanna to have the ugly vomit colored regular Savanna grass like in Java which was a change literally nobody asked for. I hope 1.21 is an End Update because Tales and Trails is a below average update. They are making Bedrock Edition WORSE to match parody, which is literally the least smart way to approach the issue. At this point I don’t want any parody changes because they will just screw up whatever thing made Bedrock have an advantage over Java and this is really dumb because more players play Bedrock than Java and they ask JAVA what they want instead of the bigger community. I just want an End Update, 1.9 wasn’t good enough and nobody asked for 2 new wood types or those pots that you can create, this update full of random stuff EXCLUSIVELY adds decorative features, and if decorative only is the way to get new features, then why don’t we get EVERY SINGLE BLOCK IN MINECRAFT LEGENDS AND DUNGEONS?!? Which is clearly absurd, so they really need to add some new non-decorative features to the game.
Sorry for the long rant, but I think that players were clearly expecting an End Update that overhauls the End and makes it look more like the one in Minecraft Dungeons and instead they got 2 new wood types for some reason, an inferior mount whose name isn’t worth mentioning again, and a cringe mob called the Sniffer. I hope they make better updates that don’t take away features from the game and adds a bunch of random stuff in its place. I lost my cool over how bad this update is, but I do believe that they will make better updates and that makes me want to keep playing. Plus, at least Bedrock players have BIG SALMON, the best parody difference in Bedrock.
