Minecraft Create Mod 0.3 Item Sorter Tutorial

Minecraft Viki (video wiki) ➜ https://minecraft.viki.gg

I created this Minecraft Create 0.3 Item Sorter tutorial because as one would expect, people seem to love this mod! I love it too and I’ve been playing with it nonstop for a few days. I’d like to add a couple of important notes about this item sorter:

1- It’s likely not the most efficient sorter to build in Create, since there are a lot of blocks that can be programmed to detect blocks. I only designed this because I loved the way the mechanical arms looked like. I will be working on a more compact, armless design.

2- Each mechanical arm can carry up to 16 items stacked together at a time. This means that at the very end, each arm will have up to 16 blocks stuck in it. This is still better than Minecraft’s vanilla hopper item-sorters which often require 42 blocks to lock the hopper.

  1. Great video. You are very clear easy to understand. I just started using Create a few weeks ago. Other mods have been keeping me busy so my only setup so far is a harvester on a minecart. The idea was to run it all the way around my base but to start out I set up a run where a two block ramp would turn the cart around at each end. To my amazement when the cart goes up the ramp the harvester does a 180 as it changes direction and it is glorious to see.

  2. I don't think you can expand this infinitely, I think this design would have issues once you make it long enough that you need a repeater to reach the clutch. This is because repeaters are not instant and require at least 1 tick per repeater

  3. I really like this tutorial! I downloaded the create mod and I was really confused. Your tutorial doesn't only showed me how to build a great sorter, it showed me also the basics of create. Great video!

P.S.: Your mic is really good 👍

  5. i need help for some reason all my items stop moving on the conveyor belt once it gets to the content observer, for example i put an observer with an iron ingot filter at the beginning of the belt, but only iron gets picked up. other items stop and never move past that first observer

  6. idk if I did something wrong but whenever an item that goes through does not get sorted and stay on the conveyor belt still the video is 10/10

  7. This is a big expensive and a little inefficient. As the design would mean that you would need a bunch of observers and clutches. Additionally, the clutch on the arms is unnecessary. Its only necessary if power generation is low. But if you reached this point, power probably isn't a concern.

You can use filters, which is probably easier to produce than the many redstone observers and arms that it would require to sort many items.

Brass Tunnels on the chest would allow you to assign one input to many outputs. The arm will be smart enough to know that an item in its hand needs to go into a filter.

You will also run into a redstone length issue if you try expanding this horizontally. So, you'll want to be making use of brass chutes and multiple floors.

  8. Amazing mod tutorial, a tip for Minecraft install JEI (Just Enough Items) with create it shows you all the items including mod items. It will also show you the crafting recipes.
