What unforeseen uses for the Crafter do you think there might be?
YOO, autocrafting in vanilla? That’s huge!
We can put it in zombie piglin farm to convert golden nuggets into blocks automatically finally! I was so tired of this I made datapack for it 2 years ago
It's so strange because this was one of the "never" items in the design handbook, as was long-range manipulation, like crab was going to add. Seems they have a new team that literally threw out the old books.
I combo a infinite villager farm with iron golem that jump into a pit that has mobs in it we're there loot is funnelled up to my item sorter got it all working in big vertical sky base villagers fuel zombies in pit while iron golems hop in to save them I get iron and anything mobs drop in there pumped up my to my sorter
I can definitely see this being useful for fireworks. I mean dispenses and observers or something. I consider a pain in the ass when you want to make a lot of them, but fireworks are also a pain in the ass when you want to make a lot of them. Basically, whenever you want to make a ridiculous large number of items, crafting becomes a pain in the ass and as someone that's going to burn through all the fireworks because of an Electra, it's definitely good to just set up a gunpowder farm and a sugar. Can't farm and then have one of these hooked up so you can just constantly be streaming out a production of fireworks without having to actually do anything but other than maybe AFK at the farm for a bit

Gregification in action!
I wish they also implemented the blueprint system so we can lock one to only accept a specific pattern of materials.
Somebody is gonna start automating beacons
The 2 biggest uses will absolutely be making gold ingots from nuggets and auto crafting golden carrots/apples
Mass scale auto farming for andesite granite and diorite is now possible,
Add an inventory and storage space sort options and the future of Minecraft is looking good!
I just wish I was that technical with stuff. My biggest question would be lag with these huge contraptions.
I don't need pronouns for a minecraft character
where tf is it
If you want a "useful" holy grail auto craft you'll need to look into instant wire. Otherwise your contraption will be very slow.
Pull a redstone block off of a redstone dust line will instantly depower it, which can in turn depower a piston which pulls another redstone block off another line. Chaining that you can have an instant dropper line to very very quickly move your 9 items with filler items in the correct order, then filter them and power your crafter.
Size wise it'll be large anyhow and that's one advantage you have with larger things. But it doesn't need to be as large as possible, since there's a lot of overlap in materials used in crafting.
Probably need to put together a spreadsheet for each item used in crafting recipes, and which position it needs to be in, luckily you can use any stackable item as filter by renaming it which is convenient. Even if it's used in a recipe. Then encode those positions for each item. If you make an in game catalogue to request the item and pair that up with your encoding it should be reasonable to finish in survival minecraft. 9 position lines in the output might make your input more complex, but would let you reuse the item storage instead of needing 9 of everything.
Getting the right items in the right position with smaller instant lines then powering the instant dropper line into your crafter you could move 9 items I think in 18 redstone ticks (since it needs to be unpowered to become powered – even instantly), and hopper minecarts to remove the filters can be done very quickly. Any item in under a second.
Truly wild times we are experiencing.
Automated Crafting in vanilla Minecraft?
