You can get diamond armor 66% off if you buy 4 boots from one of the armorers and exchange them at the taiga one.
So back to endermen/pigmen farms I guess. I still dislike the way they handle this. You can make it more expensive, more difficult to get or reduce the value you get. But not all at once. In a mature world getting villagers feels useless now with these low level enchants since you can't even combine them indefinetely due to the anvil restrictions. Chainmail armor is more rare but it is also pretty garbage.
You just need mending books (eg.) by curing a villager zombie and forget everything else about them.
Reblance lmaooo
and damn i thought for a second they had implemented the swamp villages when the swamp map came up ;_;
I hate everything about this. This completely defeats the point of trading with villagers for gear with the exception of mending and frost walker bocks. Why would anyone go to all that effort required just to get a piece of armour for slightly less diamonds and enchantments with such low levels they are basically useless when you can mine for diamonds and enchant at the enchantment table?
So no more diamond gear in skyblock. No more mending in superflat. Great…
Ah, finally a reason to request some Minecart update for faster traveling please 😂
How much time does Mojang think we have on our hand? Seriously. I cant grind for hours on end just to get the gear up.
The diamonds for diamond armour is gonna make sky block, sssooo much harder
Still need Max-level Librarians to give max-level enchants or remove the FUCKING ANVIL USE LIMIT.
The reason you weren't getting woodland mansion maps was because you didn't trade with a villager enough times.
it's just worse…. Like it went from tedious but somewhat rewarding to an actual nightmare grind for a worse reward
For the average player, this just became a task on the scale of building a world eater to dig out a perimeter, except way less exciting
Finding biomes wasn't the main problem. It was the tidiousness of GOING to these biomes without any practical ways to move villagers…
So basically Minecraft went Terraria with villagers. The only thing left is to teach them to fight slimes
curse of binding? is this a joke? who in the heck needs curse of binding on their armour??
I think a lot of these changes are fascinating, and most of them are good, but two I find to be mistakes are the Curse Of Binding trades in Savannas existing at all, and the lack of universal diamond armor trades, as they're just inconveniences. The recipe book change is interesting, but unnecessary. With the excess of diamonds from the new ore generation, I find the diamond cost as a reasonable nerf to armorers.
I think if you could transport villagers with camels it would make it easier while giving more usefulness to the camel
I don’t like these changes, I think of villages are going to be more dynamic they have to go all the way. This weird half step will only confuse casuals and annoy veterans
The fact that you need diamonds for diamond armor is a huge nerf for skyblock
I still don't like the idea of traveling thousands of blocks just to pick villagers for their trades, but at least the maps make it easier to find these other villagers. It doesn't solve the problem, but makes it less of a pain in the ass.
Some of the changes on armourers are "meh" for me, but there are two worth mentioning:
-I do like that diamond armor needs diamonds to buy. Of course, this makes it so that you now need diamonds, which are not easily obtained with farms and, thus, it forces you to mine for them… but that's the point of the game. I love automation, but in the two most recent worlds I played I almost never mined for resources. I think it's one of those things that will not go into the game without criticism from a part of the community, but I also believe it's a needed change.
-The other part, however, is that Curse of Binding makes Savanna armourers basically useless, and I don't like that. If there was somehow a theme that made certain villages better to get certain things, I could understand that some items sold there could be worse than the normal crafted ones, just for the flavour of making that specific type of village not worth using to obtain those resources. However, having this as the ONLY negative item throughout the trades… I think it makes Savanna villages worse for no reason. And, yes, I also think the same with the enchanted books of the Savanna being the ones with that same enchantment. Off the top of my head I don't know if all the other enchantments have been added to the trades, but if that's the case there are plenty of enchantments that could be added in order to make Savanna villages better. Just look at the thousands of mods that add unique enchantments. Honestly, I see no reason for Curse of Binding being there.
These updates seem really good for a change. I love the idea of getting maps that lead you to different biomes, even if they actually lead you to villages and not the biome itself.
The curse of biding armor can actually be useful if you can remove the enchantment with a grindstone.
3:46 for some reason if gamerule immediaterespawn is on the ender pearl just doesn’t despawn
Im really loving these changes. Well done Mojang
Can't say I'm a fan of these villager changes. Villagers are a massive pain to move. Easily the most difficult passive mob to transport. There must be a better way? Or atleast make swamp/jungle villages a thing. Breaking lecterns is frustrating but in its current form this change which is no doubt decided on as this "experimental" idea is not just for a laugh is going to be time consuming and annoying for the casual players. I think it's an unnecessary change when much better changes could be worked on elsewhere in the game.
I am hungarian and there are around 5 people in this 10M country who knows about villager trading… so I think not too many players effected by this changes, but my life is much harder… and I dont like it.
10:09 now using taiga villagers you can actually get full diamond set with 16 diamonds instead of 24
If this change to villagers goes through I will stop playing Minecraft. Villagers were always supposed to be an alternative to mining, a slow and grindy way of getting stuff you need without having to destroy the world. This will completely discourage people from playing challenge maps like Skyblock or superflat worlds. In fact, every resource should be obtainable through some other way apart from mining. Mining will always be in the game and should be the fastest way to get resources, but NOT the only way.
11:44 wtf a death tree in the water 😂
I cannot believe mojang is going out of its way to double down on such an unpopular idea
I like the overall direction, and I think if they announced the maps first there would be less backlash about the villager thing since it's one of the main issues addressed (conspiracy theory: they did the librarian announcement first to generate a little angry backlash to get more feedback). If they can follow through with fixing the remaining issues this could actually be good, since it is a bit silly that you can currently get full enchanted diamond armour just by selling enough sticks to villagers. And I'd love it if other villagers also had regional trades, like desert masons selling sand (finally making it renewable), or getting specific colours of wool/concrete from different biomes.
They still need to fix two other issues: firstly as has been said there still needs to be a better way to transport villagers. Either make them follow you under some conditions (hero of the village?), have a way for them to willingly get on camels/llamas, or alternatively we get a minecart buff that somehow makes it less tedious/expensive to move villagers long distance.
Secondly, there has to be either an anvil buff to remove the "Too Expensive" issue, or just give master librarians max level books again. It's ultimately not terrible in the long term if getting a trading hall takes longer (with the maps, if we get a transport buff as well then it honestly sounds fun to do at least once), but it should still be possible to get up to the level of wealth we currently have.
Finally, here's a thought for those who think max level unbreaking books makes enchantment tables useless – what if we could spend a large amount of levels to "enhance" an enchanted book, turning an Unbreaking I or II book into an Unbreaking III book, and so on? That means we don't have to combine them in an anvil, gives enchanting tables a use, doesn't negatively affect endgame players since they have unlimited levels.
Well, it takes out the fun for exploring a bit, once you have one of each, you don't need to explore a lot
