Just in case you missed it, we started Hermitcraft S8 with the release of 1.17!

Terrain looks pretty cool, but think it'd be better if they developed a way to have some biomes like jungle biomes, desert biomes, and plains biomes be their own things…
Cant wait for hardcore players to get ambushed by creepers from the dark pockets of the lush caves… Vietnam style
I like the new biome system and the light change sounds nice as it will be easyer too prevent mob spawning on larger builds without edditing said build as much.
Two things I noticed even just from a quick playthrough myself…mesa/badlands and jungles seem to be a lot more common than they were before, and creepers are a lot more dangerous than before, since they don't burn up in sunlight or go passive like the other hostile overworld mobs. It's easy to get lulled into a false sense of security wandering around in broad daylight, and then 'ssss-boom'. Also, I noticed a lot of 'floating islands' hanging around..not saying they're a bad thing (I'd be interested in making a base on one sometime), just more common.
Whats the seed??
I think the mob spawning changes will be good. Now lighting can be used aesthetically instead of for game mechanic reasons. Honestly mobs mostly spawn in complete darkness anyway.
Feedback: WOW THE MEADOW MOUNTAIN IS SO AMAZING!!! I WANT TO LIVE THERE MYSELF. PLEASE MOJANG, KEEP THE MEADOW!
idea for light level. peaceful- deny hostile spawn, Easy – light level 0 only, Normal – Light level 5 and lower, Hard – Light level 7 and lower
My only problem with Mojang right now is the account migration. I'm still hoping they cancel that. I really don't want Java to be the next Micro$oft puppet…
i dont like how they made that mobs spawns in total darkness, i would not mind lowering it to only below 4, maybe 3 or something but not only 0.
The skull sensor also came with the java version in it creative inventory I just checked
Am I the only one worried about how tedious will be to explore all of that higher terrain? I feel like the hunger bar will go down way easier
Where deep dark?
The fact they added the experimental mode to bedrock is epic and love it so freaking much with minor flaws I'm giving a 9.5/10
I think they should keep at least some of the biome-specific generation like mesa plateaus. I'm gonna miss that if they keep it like this
Definitely going to need a server upgrade if I've now got to send twice the chunk data for the same render distance :/
I think that the biome generation is what we need, the ore distribution changes (while annoying) are needed, and changing the hostile spawns is good. I want to be able to build with mood lighting and play around with dimly light rooms in my builds but it's difficult without using slabs as a floor. Soul lanterns are one of my favorite lighting options but they are too dim to be safe with the current spawns. Increasing the area that spawners can spawn mobs would possibly make farms need more caution in filling in holes outside the desired spawn area, and would just need a bit more work which isn't an issue. I think that it's a step in the right direction.
at this point the mountain generation actually looks better than how mountains look in real life, super impressed and hyped
you can look at the generation for hours
