That "desert" thing is just an origin mod thing. When you spawn in a new world and get this origin, you spawn in a desert, but you are in an SMP, so that rule does not apply.
He and Lizzie are just competing for the most deaths
Your native spawn is the desert. Without a bed or a world set spawn, you spawn in a desert.

I’m pretty sure that you were supposed to spawn in the dessert due to your origin but you ended up at spawn instead.
The reason behind the desert thing: if you weren’t doing an smp where your life changes every time, you would spawn in the desert upon every death. I don’t think it’s gonna effect this game

I think the aurora crystals just go in a gradient based on their position, so that when you put them all together it’s a nice aurora borealis.

I think the wrong shift thing at 2:29 means you respawn in the desert so it wouldn't affect you cos if you die you instantly become something else

The desert thing means that if you made a new world and chose this origin youd spawn in a desert
Did water clear out the snow too? I think that you should try just in case, it would make it easier to clean up.

The origin is meant to spawn in the desert you are fine
You can use a bunch of campfires to cook your beefs. It's quite faster than cooking a stack of beef in a furnace/smoker.
early game white concrete is easier to make… however with a good supply of emeralds and villagers you can buy quarts

The Gravitar origin spawns in the desert, that's what wrong shift means. But you already have a spawn point so yeah you didn't spawn in the desert.
The desert thing means your natural spawn is in the desert so don't worry about it since you will change origin when you die

Don't worry about the thing with the desert I'm pretty sure it just means that you were supposed to spawn naturally in the nearest desert to spawn but that doesn't happen in afterlife
I think wrong shift makes your spawn the desert if it’s normal Minecraft, so don’t worry about it.
