About this video: If you want to know how to make Minecraft run smoother on your computer or laptop, this is the video for you. We give you all kinds of different Minecraft 1.16.5 FPS boosts in order to stop Minecraft lag and actually make Minecraft playable even if you have a bad PC. This is all done using Optifine. Thus, we also give show you the best Optifine settings to fix lag. So, without anymore delay, here is how to reduce lag in Minecraft 1.16.5!
The first step of stopping lag in Minecraft is downloading and install Optifine for 1.16.5. Luckily, you will find our Optifine tutorial in the description above. It has helped over a million people setup Optifine, and it will help you out for sure. It goes over every single step of setting up Optifine, and even goes over the issues you may have when getting Optifine and how to fix those issues.
Once you have Optifine installed, we can start off in the Minecraft launcher. The first lag optimization tip you can do is here is add more RAM. RAM can be a big cause of crashes in Minecraft. However, it is a little more in-depth to make sure you get the right amount of RAM for Minecraft. Because of this, we have a dedicated video on adding more RAM to Minecraft which you can find in the description above.
Now, we can move on to opening Minecraft with Optifine and setting up Optifine to make Minecraft run smoother. Once you are on the Minecraft main menu, click on options. Then, click on resource packs. You want to make sure that you have the default resource pack selected. This is going to be the best resource pack for stopping lag. It is optimized by Mojang to be the best for the most devices.
After removing any resource packs, we can look at the video settings in the options menu. This is where you can start adding in Optifine lag fixes for Minecraft 1.16.5 and start really getting that fps boost in Minecraft. While there are a lot of settings here, the good news it is pretty easy to figure out what they should be.
Basically, the rule for getting the most FPS as possible in Minecraft 1.16.5 is turning every setting either off or to the ‘fast’ option except for the settings in the performance tab. In this tab, all the settings such as fast math and fast render need to be turn on. These are little optimizations that will stop lag in Minecraft and stabilize FPS. For particles, you can also just hit the ‘all off’ button to make things easier.
I do want to mention shaders and lag as well. In short, you shouldn’t have shaders on at all if you are lagging. If you do have shaders and are lagging, most likely, shaders are the reason. Turn your shaders off and see if you are still lagging. Most likely, you won’t be. If this is the case, you either need to try a less resource intensive shaders pack or not use shaders at all.
At this point, you can go back into Minecraft and test your FPS. If you followed along with the video, you should have a much higher FPS. You can now go back and turn on some settings or increase your render distance until you reach a point that gives you a good FPS and no lag in Minecraft while also giving you the best visuals.
Congratulations! You now know how to make Minecraft 1.16.5 run fast with no lag! If you have any questions about fixing lag in Minecraft, let us know in the comment section below. However, if we did help you make Minecraft run smoother in 1.16.5, be sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already. this did not help, my fps at highest was 9/5 and lowest 1/0. it’s sitting at 0/0 with all the options turned off like this video directed. i only have a chromebook and i really wanted to see if i could get it to work, i was confident i could because of how much success other people had. apparently not.
i installed optifine on my trash chromebook and still got like 30 fps at least an improvement from 2 fps lol still got the worst settings just to get to 30
you know what, i love you
OMG! My game was so laggy and generally unplayable. THANKS SO MUCH! I'm definetelly leaving and like and subbing!
well javascript is made for mac and windows and linux but runs terribly on all of them, but lua runs on only windows but really well, one of the reasons bedrock is faster than java (but i still prefer java)
Thank you God bless you
do you know how to enable the animation for the start of running please?
Your videos are helpful but pls talk slowly because idk English very much lol😂😂
You are legend 🤩🤩
this gave me from 10 fps to 28 fps, but I was using sildurs vibrant lite, it helps if you go to shaders in settings then make render quality .66x, and shadow quality 66x.
it prob gives the best preformance in the shaders menu. I was using a laptop and I was able to run sildurs vibrant extreme with no lag
Pls dont laugh at my pc its my moms school laptop which she got for free it takes 15 to start minecraft but dont worry my dad said he will get me a better pc after like a few months .i will update this when i get it.thanks works perfectly but cant record

Mine is 8/7 lol
after all this I just got 40 fps I was shocked cuz usually im in 4 fps XDD
this actually helped-

I'll always leave my better grass and snow on
if only my computer started out 100 plus fps before I turn that off but then even with these setting the only average I can get is 20-38
I have no idea what happened, i turned SWAMP COLORS off and suddenly my average fps jumped from 60 to 110. I don't even live in a swamp.
you have never failed a tutorial and never lied in one
I don't know why this happens but when I open the download file it just flashes into a blank screen and goes away. If you know how to fix than please show me I have been looking at everyone's videos and they all show the same thing!
well if your using mods you can't use optfine
it breaks the game + doesn't work with twilight forest
Imagine disliking one of THhe Breakdonw's videos!
This made it worse I was running at 54 now am running at 11 :/ do not do this
I got GTX 1650 ti with shaders but it gets 5fps
from 60 fps to almost 200fps
My fps was always low, until I turned off low fps. Since I can’t see how much fps I get it seems smooth 🤣
my minecraft 1.16.5 dosent normally lag but it lags when i fullscreen it
❤ You've helped me so much thank you!
is there a way to have forge and shaders?
it's not even that i have a good computer but the whole minecraft is really slow.
“Write your fps number down”. My fps: 1-16
This actually helped my old a** computer. My computer I’m currently using is my moms old computer that can’t run anything but Minecraft up to version 1.16.5. In other words anything past that version ain’t gonna work because my computer won’t support it. I’m honestly just glad this tutorial actually helped unliked all the others I watched which was like 2 but anyways thx for the help
Oh dear god, Thank you so much for this! I'm running on an HP Chromebook and it only has around 6GB left of storage and this helped out a lot, Now instead of 5-10 frames, It is now 45-60! Thanks so much.
