  1. With all the things gold does, it should be respected regardless of the bad tools and armor, don't forget that gold can give you,

Golden Carrots then after that night vision, combine it with melons for healing, give you powered rails, and golden apples, and you can use it for bartering. Sure the tools and armor are garbage, but gold makes up for it with it's versatility.

  2. With all my respects, copper is used only for building and its super expensive, meanwhile lapis is a requirement for enchanting, and u can also use it for dye and also as a block to decorate, and even the beacon if i'm not wrong. I consider enchanting the most important thing to progress in minecraft… so… i think its unfair to put lapis so low and copper upon it. I agree with the rest, even the diamond better than netherite. Since 1.16 gold is also good… not for tools, but like emeralds as a trading coin. With gold u have access to crying obsidian, magma creams, and this "rare stuff".

  3. Counter argument for gold and against diamonds.

Gold is easy to acquire mid game and end game via Nether exploration or gold farming (early game if you have quick access to a Mesa/Badlands biome). Trading gold with Cleric villagers gets you emeralds to trade for other items like lapis, redstone, and ender pearls. Trading gold with piglins gets you a whole list of useful exploration and building items, including renewable gravel (reduced cost of concrete) and blackstone. Gold make golden apples and golden carrots, some of the best saturation items in game. Gold is in small part used in redstone. Gold can be used as a building block (although it won't look as pretty as others)

Diamond…you really only ever need one diamond for an enchantment table. That's it. Four is justifiable. Diamond armor and weapons and be bought from villagers. Don't like the enchants on them? Disenchant and shove it in the enchantment table. Need to do a large scale construction project by hand? You'll likely have a villager trading hall to buy all your tools. Got a beacon? You'll be using iron for that unless you want to flex. Diamonds are otherwise terrible building block. They look ugly in builds (gold imo look slightly better, especially against black). Need emeralds? You'll use crops, rotten flesh, string, raw foods, iron, and yes gold before you trade diamonds. Armor aside diamonds have an inflated value due to being the best for the longest. But outside a multiplayer server and an enchantment table you really don't need to mind for diamonds…

  4. You are a fool to put diamonds above netherite. It is everything diamond is, plus more. You said diamonds can be used for diamond things and blocks, that’s it. Netherite has the same usage, but with the addition lodestones, and it doesn’t burn in lava or fire.

  5. I feel like quartz and lapis should’ve been swapped. For typical, non-red stone players quartz is absolutely useless except for experience. Overall, I think lapis is way more important and useful for casual players. Enchanting for fights and whatnot is a million times more important than making an automated pumpkin farm or something

  6. Hot take gold is better than diamonds especially in a singleplayer when you can get diamond tools and armor from villagers. The only thing you actually need diamonds for is to make a jukebox. With a gold farm and a piglin bartering setup gold can get you so many good resources. Also powered rails are expensive and gold becomes way more valuable when you need a lot of powered rails

  7. emerald is more useless than gold, you can still craft a some useful of things with gold, emeralds are only used to get mending, maybe saddles and name tags, but still eeeh.

  8. Mmm, I'mma disagree with you about clocks, when I'm down in my mine and I want to know if it's safe to leave the hobbit hole (really need to move out and find a good base location soon), it's actually really helpful for telling how much time I have left in the day and if it's safe to open my door…

I live in a cave near the top of a mountain ok? It's hard to tell time underground and my nether portal comes out in a Basalt Delta so it's stupid annoying to find quartz to make Daylight sensors without being bodied by a dozen giant magma cubes.

So yeah, clocks are good, or at least ok. In my opinion anyway.

Edit: Don't you also need Netherite to build Loadstones? You know, that block that looks real nice and can be paired with a compass?
