You should have done block transmutation,by doing that you could have gotten a six sided piston which when powered crashes the game.

And I know why your pc changes to white: simply unplug the pc and plug it back in. If this still doesn't work I think it's just easier to call APEX
The most effective (but slow) method is pacing a lot of redstone around e lever (place it everywhere it can reach to power it) and then with an autoclicker, spam it at the fastest rate. In about a minute it should crash your game. Bonus points if you place repeaters to extend the current
