The latest Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update snapshot features the new Axolotl mob. The axolotls are found in five different color variations, including one rare one. They will follow you around as long as you’re holding tropical fish and can be bred with tropical fish. If you don’t want to carry tropical fish on you, you can always pick the axolotls up in buckets to take them with you. Be careful though, as if you accidentally dump the axolotl out of water, it will dry out after five minutes. Keeping axolotls around underwater though can give you help attacking mobs and they can even remove mining fatigue. Besides axolotls, this snapshot made a few changes to Sculk Sensors. They will no longer register when you begin eating or if you walk on wool. Which part of this snapshot was your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!

I just realized.. They don’t actually eat the fish.. when they kill it, that is. The fish just drops, and floats up in the water. This means that we have a way to farm tropical fish! I’m not sure why you would want to farm tropical fish, since you can’t eat it. But I’m sure that someone might find a use for it! I’m just sayin’, cause’ I’m a fan of making automated farms in Minecraft. 🙂
