300 Players Simulate WORLD ECONOMY in Minecraft

Minecraft Viki (video wiki) ➜ https://minecraft.viki.gg

I put 300 Minecraft players in a single world and gave them a standardized currency to simulate economic civilization. Every player had the freedom to do whatever they wanted, but if they died they would be dead forever. This experiment was run to test how money would influence Minecraft civilization – would they use it to build world trade, or would they fight with each other for control of it?

How it worked:
300 players were selected out of a pool of applicants to participate in the experiment. The server was available for two hours every day for a week, and the server was only accessible during those hours. If the players died, they were permanently banned from the server. This video is a representation of the events of the experiment, and almost everything in this video is from live recordings.

  1. Very cool video. The economy aspect was definitely an interesting twist, and seeing how it got exploited was interesting. Too bad for Crivyy, his treachery and betrayal was met with its own treachery and betrayal. This is why you don't just betray your team members and lie about it. Too bad the UJO had to turn evil, though the Community should've known better than to harass their neighbors while not having a major fighting force.

  2. This is easily the best civilization event I have ever watched! I would love to see more videos like this! The economy was a great idea, I also liked how you didn't force the end to be violent and force the players to be part of four groups based in four islands. This video was unique and amazing!!

  3. Another cool civilization vid I thought of ( I don’t think it’s been done yet). You could do civilizations based on size. Small, medium and large.

Small could be able to fit into 1 block gaps and be really fast but not have much health.

Mediums could just be normal size and normal health but get some other buff.

Large could be 3 blocks tall and slow but have a lot of health and do a lot of damage.

also to spice it up u could give one special weapon with a special power to who each of the factions pick to be leader. Just an idea

  6. Feels like most civilization videos all miss the "simulating" part now a days. Most of the time it just feels like a giant team deathmatch, even though this video had a cliche final battle it was more enjoyable to watch (custom music was sick). See all types of variables on how a economy would work seeing the bone block meta, strategic trading locations, st valentins funding was cool. A really change of most "simulating" civilization videos.

it would be cool if people were rewarded for exploring like perhaps an island with lots of resources that is not seen across the map to really simulate more things.
