  1. Another cute way to use compasses is removing the lodestone after creating a lodestone compass with it. This makes the pin of the compass spin around amelessly and is cool is steampunk builds.

I disagree. I think just mining with Fortune is better than Silk Touch.

    – For inventory space, Silk Touch results in two separate slots for the same resource if your caving takes you between the Stone/Deepslate boundary

    – You can't use Coal Ore Blocks to make torches

    – You can just craft resources into their block form

    – Lapis Lazuli is the only ore that, on average, takes more inventory space to store in resource form. The rest equate to, on average, a fraction of a space due to the conversion to resource blocks. (ex. on average a Gold Ore gives 2.2 Raw Gold from Fortune III, which is only ~25% of a Block of Raw Gold. You can on average break about 4 Gold Ore with Fortune III and it will take the same amount of space as if you had mined a single Gold Ore Block with Silk Touch)
(Redstone and Copper tip towards Silk Touch being better, assuming you're not mining both Standard Ore and Deepslate Ore)

    – If you're going on a short mining trip and don't expect to get more than a stack of any ore block, AND you're staying at a consistent Y-level, then it makes sense to use Silk Touch. For any lengthy mining excursion though, it makes mathematical sense to just use Fortune III and carry a crafting bench or some logs.

  3. The silk touch ore thing isn't very efficient for every ore. Iron, for example, only drops about 3 per ore with full fortune. A raw iron block is crafted with 9 iron, so you can still fit 3 blocks of iron ore into a block of raw iron, making 3 stacks for example fit into only one, or even less if you get less lucky.
This tip is probably useful for lapis, redstone, and copper though, as those don't follow the same rules, dropping likely 9 or even more with fortune

  4. 3:11 or just mine with fortune and stop once in a while to craft everything into blocks. Now you can fit 9 stacks into 1 stack of blocks. This is more easy then getting the ores because you still have to mine it later with fortune. Or use a oven if your savage

  5. I could swear a loadstone in the over world used to explode when you tried to link a compass to it. Unless I'm wrong. Otherwise, I'm glad they changed it and will definitely be using it

  6. You should pair the sculk sensor with a shrieker if you don't want uninvited guests in your base at night (don't worry about wardens, they only spawn from naturally spawned shriekers).

  7. I think using fortune while mining is still better because then you don't have to mine them again and you can craft them into blocks which can be more compact except for lapis, redstone, and copper.

  8. Btw you can use a special symbol to color any type of writing input, such as tags, chat messages and signs. The symbol is ( § ) , you use it with an letter/number right after it to color all text after it. For instance texting the message: " §dhello §2guys! " would make "hello" in the pink color and "guys!" In green. The letter right after the symbol and itself does not appear in the text. Using §o makes the lettering italic, §l make it bold, §k makes it scrambled and §r reset the coloring and formating. After learning this, no need for dyes anymore!
