  1. Seasons and more trees especially fruiting ones, more trees for different wood types. More farming stuff, animals, feed troughs automatic breeding and herd/pack behaviors for captive and wild animals. Genetic variance for breedable animals to allow for selective breeding and increased animal drops. More immersive food preparation and possibly adding full animal butchery. More Redstone machines for better automation.

I mean there's plenty of mods to do all of this and Mojang probably won't satisfy the masses, so it makes sense to just add mods to suit yourself.

I agree that vanilla Minecraft needs more but with how basic the game actually is you can do a surprising amount of creative stuff with it. The modding community and gaming server community has probably been what kept Minecraft growing. But there are many diehard fans that will play until their final days, of which I am one.

  2. I feel like fireflies would be a huge performance issue for the game…. if you make them entities it can cap the number of mobs per chunk, so you gotta handle that somehow.
As particles would work better, similar to a specific type of rain, but it would be weird to see rain in a chunk, snow in tje next one and fireflies in the 3rd.

  3. With the addition of the new wolf variants I think it would be really nice to give some more variety to the monsters and farm animals. Just a couple new colorations and patterns would really help the game feel more alive. And that’s really the kind of thing I want from the devs at this point. Just some basic quality of life things like new crops and foods and some little things to make the world a little more vibrant and less stale.

  4. Muddy cows would be so cute

And remember the rare pink sheep? And the trend of strawberry cows? Mix them, give us a super rare pink cow that gives us strawberry milk, but put in the catch that you can't create them in survival.

  5. I'm going to come in with something that somebody is probably already said but adding on to the pet your pets it could just be instead of hitting them you pet them. You could add in the same hearts that they get whenever you breed them. You can have cats purr. You can have dogs do a one move wag with their tail. You could have the birds chirp. And it wouldn't even be that big a departure from what's currently in the game
