  1. Short answer: they don’t give a crap about what what the fans think, despite quote on quote, “WaNtInG tO aVoId A uGlY sOnIc sItUaTiOn” They are just trying to make a quick buck, such a shame 😔

  2. Don't watch it. Don't give them money. They hired a number of famous names, not actors. It shouldn't be about if someone likes minecraft, it should be about who is best for the role.

  3. I recently watched Harry potter again and was stunned by the impressive CGI for a 2000s movie and seeing movies they make nowadays is sad when compared to movies when they did it witch passion and tried their best to get everything perfect….I mean the style of the minecraft movie, without live-action would have totally worked for me but I hate live-action adaptations…do you remember death note? This was disgusting and light was a completely different person

  4. Honestly, I'm optimistically hopeful. It might not be the greatest movie of all time, but ultimately it's for kids. It's going to be silly and wacky and there are gonna be some laughs. At the end of the day, just like every movie, people are going to love it or hate it. They are doing the right thing in film making. They are trying something new

  5. i'll be honest we haven't even seen the movie yet, so maybe we shouldn't criticis it too much. We've all heard the term guilty until proven not guilty, which is a lot of bull. But for some reason everyone's like that. so please everyone lets just bear a little.

  6. The movie looks like I'll be a fun watch. I'm surprised we're getting a minecraft movie to begin with, and Im interested to see how it turns out. I think it'd be lame to go with a fully animated movie where the whole plot is that they kill the ender dragon. This movie might not really look like minecraft so far, but it has the minecraft spirit. At least imo

  7. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover – It’s hard to judge a film by trailer exclusively, so I am keeping an open mind until the actual film comes out and I do actually really respect their decision for live action because so many other people have done animation and the sets are actually so incredible and well done. I’m cautiously optimistic about this movie and I think too many people are jumping to assumptions that this movie will be terrible before it has even come out (although I can see the arguments against it all I’m saying is to keep an open mind)

  8. Get a better actor that looks like Steve more and cut the over-the-top energy. Also, fix some of the mobs again to fit real Minecraft. I mean if it's Minecraft make it look like Minecraft and not some other carp. Few things can have a big impact and if those few things were fixed they would get WAY MORE money which to them is like the point why they made it.

  9. It could have looked good as a live action movie, I saw an incredible fan made trailer that proved it could be done given the right tone. But this ain’t it. This has no soul in it, no passion. That’s the problem here.

  10. Personally, i think Minecraft's tone is impossible to nail down due to it mostly being on personal experience between you and maybe if you play with friends. The movie is destined to get some criticism regardless, but i do see most people see Minecraft as a more serious experience as compared to a more silly experience

  11. The thing I hate most about this movie is the “real world meets Minecraft” thing, I would have much preferred it if it was about Steve’s live, how he got in the whole survival situation, going to villages and temples and just figuring things out, I don’t like that they’re going the Jumanji (2017) way

  12. I have no issues with Jack Black being in the movie, I have no issues with him voicing Steve. One of my favorite versions of Steve is by Blue Monkey and I could see a Jack Black Steve being similar. BUT WHY DOES IT NEED TO BE LIVE ACTION😭😭😭

Once you think about it though, there’s a good reason that they could just cast anyone as Steve. We all stared as Steve, we have all been Steve and we are all different, so yeah while there is a way we all collectively view him. It would be a good reason imo

  13. But wasn’t jack black hired onto be Steve before he really started playing a lot of Minecraft? I thought the narrative was Jack started playing Minecraft to learn more about the game so he could accurately play Steve. Lol
