  1. The comments have split into two parts:
It is just a sad moment in the life of a game, because so many maps relied on this mechanic, so many techs that were niche but useful gone.
    And
Well it was a bug so it had to be fixed, also logic, doesn't matter that it was fun.

  2. this is probably because the middle of the players hitbox is located on the air block and it makes sence when there is a block next to the slime block since you also landed on those blocks. Its like falling from a building into water while also having one feet on the ground. However if you think about it lets say you land on a trampoline but your other feet is actually in air when then you still fall so is this a bug or is it kinda realistic to still get damage if you land on 2 blocks. cuz yes the player can be standing on a total of 4 blocks.

  3. This is a really weird way for me to find out that being on the edge of a block essentially cancelled out that block's effects.

Whelp, back to Minecraft as I thought I knew it.

  4. Another L for the community, these mechanics have been utilized literally forever within map creation, pvp, and various gamemodes.

  5. there's also a similar bug where you're standing on wool at the edge where you're like standing on minecraft:air. When you move, the Sculk stuff will detect you.

  6. Wait slime blocks have been added n the game for how long now? I felt like these were still a somewhat new change. I’ve been playing for a long time.

  7. Wow you're still making Minecraft videos?! I remember almost 10 years ago watching your content during my childhood! Wow this is wild. 😀

  8. Not that I personally used it in my own Minecraft adventures since I mostly play on iPhone and the interface is garbage, but I expect a block to retain most/all of its usual behavior whether I land on it from high up vs normal jumping on it, or am moving on its edge vs moving on it normally.

  9. HELL YES, I'm making a mod for 1.19.3 now and added jumppads. This annoyed me from the get-go, I'm so glad it's finally fixed. Definitely will look into porting to 1.20
