Like I think every other Minecraft fan, I was hugely dissapointed when the trailer for A Minecraft Movie came out – and it wasn’t even Minecraft.
Genuinely, I do not know whose idea it was to make a live action Minecraft movie with A-list actors, when this is a game that has such a rich history and fantastic community all of which would have loved to see this game treated with the proper respect it deserves. Let alone the fact this movie would have sold without the A-Listers. It’s the bestselling videogame on the planet. From what the official teaser has shown, that movie is not an appropriate way to genuinely respect the past 15 years of history this videogame has,
so while I hope it’s good I don’t have my hopes very high.

I hope this animation is able to respect the legacy of Minecraft a little bit better than whatever Warner Bros were cooking.

  3. The fan animations I've seen like this really illustrate the difference between something made by people who care versus a company making a shameless cash grab. This is what the movie SHOULD look like. If you're going to animate like 90% of the movie, why even bother having live actors milling about on a green screen stage? You may as well do it right and animate the whole thing!

  14. Animation of the og teaser is not the problem the problem is the real humans in the visual blocky world is the real problem they should do a Mario like approach or else the movie would not perform as good
