This needs to be balanced
I'm kinda disappointed that Mojang is adamant about the Mace being unenchantable. The Trident got some pretty unique enchantments so why can't the Mace?
Imagine if the only thing special about the Trident was that it could be used as a melee and ranged weapon… Almost no one would've used it as a ranged weapon for the fear of losing it. The enchantments only helped it. Loyalty recalling the Trident to you after throwing it. Impaling to kill aquatic mobs. Riptide shooting you forward while in water (or rain.). And Channeling to strike down enemies with lightning during a storm. All of these enchantments added a sense of magic (Excluding Impaling. Its just another Smite/Bane of Arth)
Now with the Identity of the Mace being this "heavy weapon", maybe if it got unique enchantments they would lean towards that "Heavy" fantasy a bit more. Some existing enchantments do work with this fantasy. Mojang also stated they don't want this to be an upgrade but rather its own thing, so I don't think it should get a traditional "+Damage" enchantment like Sharpness. But, rather it should get enchantments that play with its fantasy. So hear me out.
Existing Enchantments:
-Mending – Come on Mojang… I don't want to carry an anvil and a supply of Breeze rods in my inventory. You brought up inventory management regarding Vault loot in the same snapshot.
-Unbreaking (1-3) – Basically the same reason for Mending
-Knockback (1-2) – Normal attacks AND the slam Aoe get more knockback.
New Enchantments:
-Impact (1-5) – 20/25/30/35/40% of the main targets damage to all mobs affected by the slam Aoe.
(This means with Impact 5, slams that would be enough to be 2.5x overkill on the main target will effectively also kill the same type and weaker nearby mobs. More risk? More reward!)
-Shattering (1-3) – Deal 30/40/50% of Armor/Shield durability on the main target on successful slams.
(This should break most damaged armor that hostile mobs spawn with in 1 slam if you don't kill them. Maybe it could be way less effective for PvP like 10/15/20% on players.)
I feel Impact and Shattering should be unique enchantments but I could also see both existing on the same Mace since there would be no real functional overlap like Channeling and Riptide.

They're definitely going to debuff it. Either put a cap on it and/or make it scale slower. Also, I feel like the heavy core should be gravity affected for players who don't follow news. It can work like an anvil. I'm excited for this to officially come out
Remember: It only takes one man with an elytra and a mace to ruin your life
Side note: I was actually concerned about 1.21 but now I'm pretty cool with it it seems awesome and pretty creative with it's items.

This thing will probably be disabled on many pvp oriented servers. Or heavily reworked with plugins/by mojang itself. It is sick, but falling from 20 blocks and onehiting full netherite is a bit insane.
