Hello and welcome to yet another Minecraft video!
With the release of Minecraft 1.17.1 we also quickly got a Forge 1.17.1 version! It usually takes some time for Forge 1.17.1 to be released, but this time Forge was updated to 1.17.1 pretty quickly! In this video, I will show you how to install Forge 1.17.1, but since this is a Forge Beta version, it’s a little harder to install. Of course, if you want to use mods in Minecraft 1.17.1 update, you’ll have to install Forge 1.17.1! The 1.17.1 Forge installer will be a .jar file, so to run it you need Java. Because for some people, the file association is set incorrectly, they will need to run a program called Jarfix to fix this.

It always says i need to launch the launcher first and I don't understand, I have minecraft launched and it still doesn't work
Is this available with the newest windows edition for xbox game pass on PC? When I load forge it's saying the user file cannot be found and I need to run the launcher but I've followed the steps and created the instillation. Do I need to try a different version?

I did everything you asked for but when I open minecraft with Forge 1.17.1 it gives Error 0

You left me at the type %appdata% into the search bar. You must be running a newer version of macOS. I'm running 10.14.6. And, when I drag the Biomes o' Plenty mod into the ~/Users/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods folder, and then launch Minecraft, it doesn't show up in the mods list.
